I have to share and I asked for a picture of the finished product.

A lady I work with has a normal day job at a monument company. (As in headstones.) She got an order for a chicken to be put on a headstone.

So falling did something to my ankle. Can i please get a break? And not broken bones please!

I just made a sad discovery. One of my 11-12 week old chicks is missing without a trace. My FIL said last night that he chased 5 of them into the mobile coop but the 6th one had put herself away. While I was making dinner, I looked out the window and could only see 5 of my chicks. We looked all over the pen. Nothing. The chick that is missing was one of my BSL pullets.

I think she got taken sometime yesterday or avoided being herded into the coop last night and was taken overnight. I think a bird got her, since we can't find any signs of her.

Quilling is paper filigree. That’s what the little sheep are. What the flowers on the mats are too.

So funny story (IMO). I actually have a silly little pre-fab coop as my hospital coop. Its tiny of course (2 ft x 3 ft house plus a nest box) but it works great as temp housing for a bird or two. BUT when I decided to rehome the whole wild Squatch flock last year I needed some place to store the lady squatches for 36 hours before they went to their new home (the boy squatches were in dog crates in my main run). The ONLY option was the hospital setup. I assumed the ladies would just sleep in the run (I added an extension run so its pretty roomy). Oh how wrong I was. All nine NINE squatch hens piled themselves into that itty bitty coop. I have no idea how they did it. But when I let them out in the morning it was like one of those clown cars at the circus! They just kept coming out! Silly squatches they think they are little finches

Circus analogy sounds perfect!

I leave the doors open on my pre-fab coop for my bachelor boy yard birds. Seems a couple of them end up sleeping in it most nights. They have choice of 3 "houses". I guess low man on the totem pole gets the kiddy coop.
