Ok,I went out to give the heathens their supper and gather eggs got Tuck's, Lulu's, Bea's still waiting on Susan,Hobo and Marlene. I was really waiting on Marlene since she didn't lay yesterday. Open the nest box and see this egg kinda just on the edge of the box ,I'm guessing its a night egg because its cracked. Not too unusual but its white with little bits of brown and it has to be Marlene's because its huge! I took it inside and washed it the thing is brown! That egg had enough coating to turn it white, I've never seen such as that I'm just mystified.

This weather needs to change. My little Svart X won't give it up. She was sitting on 4 eggs. None of them hers! LOL But she was also snuggling with GG who could use it. If she doesn't stop by the weekend I'm probably going to have to bring them in the house. The office--basement is too risky with all the coal dust.
We even pancakes on the floor. Sonim not sure just removing the last box would work.

Um, that egg turns white again once its dry...what!? Marlene is magical, first she gives me conehead egg yolks, and now I've got color change eggs. If at any point in my life I ever own anything normal its all about to end, y'all can bet money on that.

I saw one like that and thought it'd be perfect for Odin to have his own space in the summer and give my girls more space, but I'm not about to spend $300 on it.


How much did you get last night. I was surprised we actually got the lower end of what was predicted, AND I was able to easily brush it off the car.

I was told that if I bred my bboe and sebright I would have anything from looking exactly like one of their parents down to a pure black bird.

Dry,white egg well pinkish definitely not a Marlene color.

I have one hen that lays chalky eggs but they are darker and VERY spotted when wet.
