Fun fact.. I left my husband on April Fool's day 11 years ago. He didn't believe me, then spit in my face when I told him I was serious. I didn't realize the date. Now it amuses me for a variety of reasons.

A few years ago here was a Texas vet who shot and killed a feral cat with a bow and arrow then bragged about it (with pictures) on FB.
Well, it wasn't a feral cat. It belonged to her neighbour. Who of course was devastated. She ended up losing her license for a year with probation for four more.
Why if it's in a city people automatically think it's a feral cat I don't understand. Growing up I lived in a fairly rural area (nursery country) and we never assumed the cat wasn't someone's pet.

People can be so heartless and selfish. If that person shoots the cat another will take it's place.

10 years ago there was a feral cat here. He was an older scarred up Tom. I trapped it and my DW took it to animal control to have it put down. The place here is run by Sheriffs. They did not believe that the cat was Feral and thought we were getting rid of our own cat!

My DW was wearing thick gloves and told them that the cat was going to attack them. Since we were lying, they did not take enough precautions. The first guy got scratches and a bite. They then brought in help and three of them were involved. Still one more got a bite through his glove!

They admitted that this was the most feral cat they had ever seen. My DW said I told you so but you would not believe me!

People are sick. The last guy to respond should be turned in to local authorities. Says he takes out cats all the time and knows which house they come from.

Turns out, the chick that looked like it had splayed legs last night only needed a shoe on the left foot. I used painters tape with a bandaid stuck to the bottom for traction.

The chick has been dubbed Boot. Boot is a LF Dark Cornish.

Ok, yes 5 toes! All derps have bonus toes. And its early yet but with that much brown on the wing I'm saying girl. If 7 is a boy all kinds of black will start happening so brown = girl , black = boy .

Is that a pop up play pen? That's a great idea! I used an x-pen I lined w/ cardboard.. then realized after I was done that I should have put a tarp under and over the bottom cardboard.. it was SOOOOOO disgusting when I tore it out after they went outside.

That's horrible. I hope they make it. I would cover that light switch.. either w/ a plate cover, or put tape over it.


It's really interesting to see if it works. IDK how much fertilized duck eggs normally cost
but I think buying them pre-fertilized and incubated would seriously cut down on hatching times and hatch rate. If you do get it to work, maybe holding the eggs to see if you feel movement, or candling them there to see if it's viable. I wonder how long they sit in the store before the toss them.. to get the most recently incubated eggs.

Yep, pop up playpen. Best investment ever not even kidding. The bottom is waterproof and velcros in and the top is net and zips closed so no escapes and you see its pretty big so it'll do until they move outside. To clean it up it just hoses off, so easy which I really need.
