I got up to use the ladies room-- there is snow on the ground.
That is all. I'm going to hide under the covers now.

She's good. I was so relieved. The vet said that w/ 2 other cats my mother cannot be certain that it came from Jasmine, but if it's only happened once and it's been a few days and hasn't happened again, it's probably nothing & she looks fine otherwise, eating and drinking so she didn't want to give her antibiotics. Said her elderly cat does the same thing periodically and she's tested everything under the sun and has found nothing & not seems to help. They couldn't get a urine sample, but did clip her nails b/c she's a ferocious beast as well. The poor vet tech who came and and took her already had scratch marks up and down his arms. He looked like he'd been mauled a few hundred times already.Times like that are hard having to be the one to decide.
I hope its something fixable with meds.

Mine looked like drowned rats too! Chickens are much slimmer when they're wet. Their run looks like a pig sty.. so much mud.I'm not sure where on the spectrum of crazy chicken lady this falls-- but I found myself catching and towel drying what looked like drowned rats today. Low and behold they were my chickens--just soaked from standing out in the rain all day.
My kids are like that, except the red faced and sweating. We don't use a/c in the bedrooms & I don't leave their windows open at night b/c we live in a basement apt and our windows are at ground level. They both have multiple blankets that they always sleep with, and will wear onesie sleepers in the summer. They are weirdos. My little brother slept with two blankets in the summer when the house was very hot. He was red faced and sweating...would not take them off! It was comforting I guess
It's snowishing here, but it's all melting as soon as it hits the ground. I hope you don't get buried! Out front of my apt we have 4 daffodils that bloomed yesterday.. Winter is holding us hostage.I got up to use the ladies room-- there is snow on the ground.

I was given 100 eggs to hatch and raise to 5 months, the folks paid for food and I was getting 500 bucks just for doing it sweet deal since I like fiddling with chickens. I had the yard set into two pens so I could seperate sexes as they made their appearance and pretty soon I just had a massive chicken sausage party in one pen. I ended up merging the pens just for the roos and put a much smaller pen for pullets. The people took the roos and actually gave me the girls because roos make better soup? Don't know how true that is, but I didn't argue at all!You had 80 chickens and 64 of them were roosters? I have to hear this story!

She only eats canned food now. She was eating some of those 'natural' dry foods, but then she started having trouble digesting it. She always had problems where she'd throw up food b/c she has never chew it. Same as your cat where she wasn't take care of very well as a kitten. I saved her from a horrible situation. My uncle never fed his cats. I took 5 kittens b/c they were sick and got them meds and stuff. I kept Jasmine, and returned the other kittens once they were healthy and then he drowned them all in his pond. (Wasn't at all sad when he died.. seriously.) So b/c she was starved for the first several months of her life she never chewed her food, then would throw it up. She can eat the pate stuff, but if you give her the kind w/ meat and gravy she'll just lick up all the gravy & eat none of the actual food. I started getting her the new meow mix food that comes in a little cup and looks like puke. She loves it. My mom was giving her people food that was put in the food processor b/c she said the canned food was giving her diarrhea, but it didn't and after several months she finally started feeding her cat food again. She also has a thyroid problem and I give her meds for it.I'm glad your cat is going to be ok @apryl29 ,the old girl here pees blood every now and again the only thing that has slowed the frequency is changing her food to a dye free food. I'm not taking anything fancy just switched from meow mix to cat chow the dyes apparently lead to crystals in the urinary tract that makes them bleed when they pee.
