AND you can sell the elephant poop as fertilizer!I was tired and we were climbing the hilly part of the property . I told hubby we should put in a chair lift. We could use it in the winter for skiing. So he said, lets just get an elephant and make an elevator like Tarzan had. I argued it would cost too much to feed. He said, the woods are full of stuff for it to eat, or they can go eat at the empty 2 neighboring properties. So i am going to order a pair of elephants. They will be great for dragging and lifting logs!
the EGR valve is not hard to replace. WD 40 should get the stuck bolts loose.Ughhhhhh I have a cousin like that. Every time she comes around I know there's going to be major drama. Thankfully she knows I don't really like her. We can have a conversation, but I don't see her any more than I have to.
Um... I need the whole story.
We tried the self echeck place last time, but something is wrong w/ the computer and it won't work. It has to be run through, unfortunately the light comes on way to fast to just reset it. My dad has a code reader and we can clear it, but it comes back on in the time it takes to go down the driveway. I looked up the code and it says it needs a new EGR valve. My dad looked at it, but it's super rusty (old car)... Worst comes to worst I'll just end up w/ a 30 day tag. I'd wanted to get something "new" before we go to Atlantic City, but haven't had time to do any looking.
I have a separate light to ignore for the oil change. It's probably just that the egr valve needs replaced (the light's been on for a while) but it's the whole 'having enough time to work on it' part that's an issue. Probably should have done something sooner, but we were planning on replacing the car last year, but now we're at the 'eh, just run it til it dies' part... it's actually a decent car, but there's a TON of rust b/c Ohio. We were trying to find an identical car from the south w no rust where we could just swap out then engine/ do some work on it, but they were all just as rusty. Cars cost wayyyy more than they really should.
Congrats!!!! They're adorable.

YouTube it!
Thanks, my dad is going to do it. He does all the car work and stuff, but he's been working 10-12 hr days lately. He's picking up the valve tonight after work & will take it up to echeck it tomorrow for me. I thought he might have one in the back of the shed but doesn't feel like digging for it. My mom and I both have buicks, but he had to replace her engine several years ago and I'm sure you know you NEVER throw anything away b/c you might need it later. Goes double for car parts. lol (Doesn't help if you can't find it though.) I just should have realized sooner that I needed the stupid echeck.. Like FNF said, it's dumb... all for helping the environment, but it's not like outsiders w/o echeck-passed vehicles don't drive all over the place here.
- 1
Place the vehicle in park. Apply the emergency brake. Consult your owner's manual or vehicle repair manual to locate the EGR valve.
- 2
Disconnect all electrical components and allow to fully discharge before proceeding.
- 3
Inspect the hoses attached to the EGR valve for cracks or leaks, which will affect performance. One good way to diagnose possible vacuum hose leaks is to spray the vacuum line in question with starting fluid while the engine is idling. If you hear the engine's RPMs pick up, it means the vacuum line is sucking in the starting fluid. Replace hoses if necessary.
- 4
Remove the bolts holding the valve to the cylinder head. If you have trouble removing the bolts, spray them with WD-40 and let them sit before trying again.
- 5
Remove the valve and any remaining gasket material. Avoid having debris fall into the cylinder head.
- 6
Install the new EGR valve, following factory instructions.
- 7
Reattach all electrical connections and hoses.
- 8
Use a diagnostic tool to check for codes and reset the engine light if necessary. On older vehicles, disconnecting the battery for about five minutes can be enough to reset the computer and clear all engine codes. Take your vehicle for a short drive to be sure it's running, and idling, smoothly again.

The same eggs with and without flash. Here’s the head scratcher— the top two are from my Wheaten Ameraucanas.
The bottom three are from my Olive Egger. Yes all three are from the same chicken! My OE just laid a purple egg![]()
