Put eggs under my broody! I swear she’s the most broody chicken in the world. I couldn’t let her brood in the winter but it’s warm enough now so operation broody is under way.
She has her own private suite in the coop where no one can pester her. This is first time flock hatching for both of us so :fl.

Moved the Cukoo Marans out to the coop too. In a big dog crate so see not touch. Everyone came in to investigate after B!tch Pudding ran out complaining. My FBCM got the closest to them. I could just hear them— “Bonjour. Ah we see you are from Marans too. Welcome to ze flock.”

We don’t have weasel down here can they jump 3 or 4 feet? I don’t know much about them. What ever predator it is would have to be able to jump really high or climb straight up a wall
 
Happy Mother's day! I spent the morning sitting in the sunshine having coffee petting Early in my lap. So far a good start! Btw i'm totally leaving out the part where he climbed up my leg and tried to hunker down behind my neck with his nasty wet chicken feet...nope my chicken son would NEVER do that! :sick :lau

Weasel are a lot like a ferret. Yes they can climb straight up and fit through amazingly small spaces.

some species of weasel is found every state/country in north america. They can climb anything and get through a hole bigger than 1/2" .. they kill everything that moves... they will wipe out the whole coop if they get in... my avatar is one

I love that word.

Having four kids in three different schools at the same time, often someone was jumping out of the car as the bell bagan to ring.

I’d yell RUN!
And dang they would.
 
Went out to check on everyone.... my broody apparently didn't like her accommodations. She was sitting in another nest! After days of sitting on golf balls so I knew she was ready.
I had her blocked off cause I didn't want others pestering her and I gave her nutri drench water. Which I'm sure others would gulp down or dump.
