Official Squatch Watchers

@CapricornFarm
Hey what day do you start to see any sign of fertility in the guniea eggs, while incubating? Just curious if they are any different then the chickens, ducks and quail?
I know probably a common sense or dumb question
I candle about day 10 but i think by day 8 you can see development. Got another person on the list wanting guinea keets. Due to hatch on the 18th.

Hope, I don't miss the horse flies one bit. Haven't seen one since 1990, and love it. They didn't have them in Germany and Hawaii, and they don't have them in western Washington State. You should come out here for a vacation, we don't get up past 85 until July and August, and we get down in the teens for maybe 8 days in the winter. Otherwise, it's nice and mild. Yesterday and today are a heat wave, with temps in the 80s, then were back to 60s and 70s. No hurricanes or tornados, only volcanoes and an overdue shake, rattle and roll to really worry about. Scenery is gorgeous, we're only an hour from the mountains and about 2 hours from the ocean, rainforest and another set of mountains. If you want dry, arid and desert, that's about 2.5 hours in the other direction over the mountains on the east side of the state. We're 20 minutes from an ocean inlet, so we still have saltwater beaches if you miss the smell of the ocean. And then there's the multiple lakes within easy driving distance. And there is lots of green on the west side, especially once you get out of the big city, and its green all year. This year we should be good with our water aquifers as well, so no water restrictions predicted, had a good snowpack and plenty of rain.

Ok, I'm done promoting the state, but y'all should really look up the website, just Google Washington State. I promise several of you will be jealous. (I'm such a tater :lau )

:hugs:hugs:hugs:love:love:love

Seriously!!!! Are you wanting ALL of us Squatchers to move there????

Sounds divine compared to most other places.

:love

I put yellow jacket traps out and do catch quite a few. We certainly don't have the variety that you get!
we have honey bees, gigantic bumble bees, yellow jackets, paper wasps, mud daubers, and such as that. It's the yellow jackets and paper wasps that are the most troublesome.

Nope, i have seen the heartache shipping birds results in. I used to ship eggs, but not NPIP. There must be someone around there that hatches keets.
There are... tryin to get people to answer you is ridiculous!
And the one guy we got them from only has adults and they are terrified of people and all their feather were gone on their back and the skin was so infected we bought as many as we could because we felt bad. But they were healthy other then the over mating and plucking.
But.... they all got killed(but 3) because they wouldn't roost and ran away from people. These three finally like me and come up to me for food and treats.

No more babies!!! I have reached my cutoff point, hubby will likely divorce me if I add any more chickens, lol!
Haha!
Oh come one where is the fun in that!!
You can always rehome/sell the girls you don't want. And eat the roos!!
Win win all the way around!
You get your fluffbutt fill and still don't get overrun. :D

My hubby wants me to get another bator fo hatch more.... I cut him off on that one.

Dude, these guys are freaking ninjas

I still have my bites from a week ago!!
The tea tree oil helps alot but still my body hates them
Those flies LOVE me! And I have a terrible reaction to their bites too. I get a massive welt that itches like crazy and lasts for at least 2 weeks.
An old Army scout told me to drink tonic water. Must contain quinine. Tastes awful but something about sweating it out keeps the bugs away. I didn’t get the chance to try it yet but I will! Adding flavor is ok but he said it still tastes pretty bad.
