Official Squatch Watchers

Finally got the lawn mowed and I swear I could have used a bailer on the cuttings. Instead I raked a bunch of it into the chicken run. Covered the dirt and mixed it into the run area by the coop to start a better DLM.
Supposed to rain the tomorrow but be better Sunday. Then again it’s Ohio so that may change.
My parents mowed their lawn twice to get it short enough. I raked up a bunch and tossed it into the run. I'm hoping they spread it around. There's some spots that are so wet they couldn't even mow there. It was looking pretty gray here earlier so I'm hoping the rain holds off. It's the big yard sale weekend here so hopefully it's nice for the most part.

Good luck on that. It stops raining for a little bit, and next thing you know, its freakin pouring rain again. Only the guineas are out in it. Even the dogs want in.

I got to fondle a teenage cardinal today, it knocked itself stupid flying into the carport pole. It fully recoverd but lost a little bit of head feathers. I didn't know about the little thing, sat on my finger with its beak open for a looong time. I did check, beak was fine not broken. It closed it when it started coming back around. Poor bird, but cool I got to look at it and touch it. Wonder what it will tell the other cardinals? Lol. :)

Got this super weird egg today. I thought the bloom was still wet but it wasn't. Has a sandy texture. I don't think it was quite done.

Looks like a thin spot in the shell. I had one bird that was doing something similar last year. I upped calcium and that helped. A few times the shell was so thin that I could see the yolk.
