Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning Squatchers! It's another rainy day in NJ....hubby put a tin roof on the runs last week and it really seems to be keeping the muck and yuk factor down.

Negan (my little cocky Serama cockerel) started crowing! A Serama crow is really pathetic sounding and cute...I'm gonna have to get DH to make a video. It's like a soft little "ah ah AH!" squeak. :) @WVduckchick, that's pretty much as good as it gets, right? :)

He might work it out with a little more force, but volume won't go up much. :D
I have a few that have always sounded like they are being strangled.

My beautiful @WVduckchick Seramas. From left: Grumpy (hiding), Negan, Fergus, and Suzi. I love these little birds, they are quite special! I think I will always have Seramas. And d'Uccles, and Silkies, and Ayam Cemanis. :)

They are soooo pretty. I'm glad you love them as much as I do. Usually males that grow up together, or young ones that grow up in a pen with an existing rooster get along pretty well. I had to pull 2 from a pen though that got along too well and would double-team the girls. Not cool.

Hey all......got my new chickens. 3 Serama and Wyandotte Bantam. They are all very happy in their new coop. A silkied Rooster named Thoreau, a frizzle name ZsaZsa and a smooth named Monique. The little Wyandotte is Vivienne.

Steady 91° in the workshop, sweat dripping off my brow! I got the doors on the turkey tractor, a few details like roosting bars and cross bars to hang feeders and waterers on and it will be time to move it to guinealand and screw the roof on! About time!

These are my two little Serama cockerels, Grumpy (little silkied Serama, shy and girl-like) on left, and Negan (cocky little perfect man) on right. They are ten weeks old this weekend. So far they are getting along fine. I hope they always do because I love them both and would hate to have to give one away!
Gosh they are cute! :love
If we ever move again I think I’d like the opportunity to have a boy or two, for the experience. :old
On the other hand... maybe ill keep things uncomplicated and I’ll just live vicariously through all my squatchers friends. :wee

Why is it that roosters pick the worst possible times "for them" to be d-bags? Iv'e got three perfectly good little men small enough for my girls to mold into their dream guy and Negan wants to start being a butt to the hens that aren't putting out. Not the time dude, not the time. I love that roo to pieces, but if my girls aren't happy don't let the door hit ya guy!:rant
