Official Squatch Watchers

The swelling looks the same today. I think it’s my imagination being overly worried but at times it looks like that eye is funny. Sorta like a dog that has cataracts. But I can’t turn her head a certain way or shine light and make it happen.
No bugs anywhere. And both pupils react even to light. I don’t see any kind of irritant in her eye either.

I left the image as an attachment so it can be zoomed. That blueish area it the bottom of the bubble. I wish I could upload how it feels. I can’t really describe it.
Do you have a separate thread going for this ?
Maybe you should.
And tag some of the experts.
Have you brought in any new birds lately?

Welcome back cindi!
Glad you had fun and got back safely!

Thanks my friend! It really was fun. But coming back home is always great, too. I've been just lazing with the chickies outside (it's hot and sunny, LOVE) and farting around in my garden. Made a pitcher of ice water with limes, cucumber slices, and mint, and I'm trying to hydrate and restore my poor liver, ha!

I discovered this drink down there that I like too much, called a Pimm's Cup...I tweaked it and made a sort of mojito out of it and it is divine. So, I am being healthy today. Water, yoga, no alcohol, and grilled fresh fish later, gifted by a friend of a friend. It is so good to be cooking my own food after eating all that fried unhealthy N'Awleans cooking all week!

Sadly, the poor beleagered chicks have been rejected again. I don’t know if it was the chicks or the mama that did the rejecting, but I just went outside and I found 4 of the 6 chicks huddled in the corner. One was trailing along behind the hen and one was standing in the middle of the pen looking thoroughly dejected and miserable. I gave the dejected looking one a drink of water and it perked up. It occurred to me that I hadn’t introduced these babies to the rabbit bottle. I gave the dejected baby a drink and grabbed the other 5 chicks to get them a drink as well. They went crazy for the water and started fighting over the waterer. At this point, the hen came over and started pecking at the babies, particularly the cheeked oops chick and the Chocolate Orp baby. She wasn’t being ANYWHERE as mean to them as the Dark Cornish hen was, but I wasn’t leaving them with her. The Dom/Buff has been off the nest ALL day and she showed no interest in the babies. If she is on the nest tomorrow, I might try introducing the babies to her tomorrow, but I’m thinking these babies may already be beyond accepting another hen. They were certainly really happy to be back in their brooder.
Poor babies. At least you can brooder them. Loki has decided she's done w/ the babies for the most part. Last night Toothless tried to roost w/ her. I was impressed she managed to get up there even. She jumped on Loki's back so I set her on the roost next to her and Loki kept pecking her. I eventually took the babies down to the floor and tucked them into the end nest box. Everyone kept pecking at them. I feel bad for them. I'm sure she's trying to wean them away, but they literally JUST got outside yesterday.

I get a whiff of the one out by the coop when I go by and :sick holy taters does that thing stink! But it’s filling up with flies.
They really do work amazingly well. I save the lid to the bottle and when it’s too gross to look at—stuff the paper inside and put the lid back on. Then throw the whole thing out.
I use plastic wrap or a sandwich bag and poke holes in it. Hold it on w a rubber band. Toss it when it's gross.

My coop reeked too.. outside the pop door was moldy smelly muddy poopy straw. I scraped it all out and spread it out in the yard to dry, hoping the possible future rain will rinse it off and get rid of the stench. It's so gross.

Friday is my last day and I start the new one Monday.

Getting stuff for the new job almost daily... Two huge monitors, keyboard and mouse, security token... Laptop and docking station are en-route as well. Also supposed to be getting a headset to use with skype. Apparently we do that a lot.

Still have no idea what I'm doing Monday or where I'm doing it.... I know my accounts won't be active until Tuesday.
HR says I'll get an email on Friday with instructions.:th:rant At least I know I don't need to go to Orlando:ya
If you're going to use a webcam when you skype take a bit of time to get it positioned correctly and adjust your lighting. You don't want to have to mess with it while you're on a call.

Yeah, you shoulda told PBM... we know our @Rubysword knows how to conduct herself... unlike others.... :::: coughcoughPBMcoughcough :::

And riiiiiight @Chickassan.... the *neighbor* put that in your yard.... that little prank has your own stink all over it!!! :gig

So, can someone send me their trail camera? One (or possibly more) of my chickens are eating the eggs in the nesting boxes.... ye gawds! At least someone recommend a good trail cam that won't break the bank!

This is what I have. You'll need to buy a memory card for it and it takes 6 batteries, but they do last a while. For some reason the date gets messed up, but it takes good photos. It also takes videos, but I don't use that. You can mess w/ the settings to get it to work how you want it to.

No terramycin... is it called anything else? (I’ve got left over human antibiotics ) Penicillin and fish zole. I did rinse her eye last night.

It doesn’t feel like puss or liquid. It’s the strangest feeling bump.
Could it be a cyst or a stye?

Anyone know what this is? It's tiny and has black & yellow stripes on it's thorax.

I'm thinking maybe bring Lulu inside once the chicks arrive, after they recoup of course. Have a supervised visitation to see if she really wants to do this. I need to bathe her anyway and it will be easier with just me here. She hasn't got to roll on the carpet in ages, it will be good for her.:)
