It really varies. I had one guy that had already bought a bunch of birds and wanted more. Said he would come Sunday, cause that was his only day off. I ended up waiting almost 2 weeks, he never did call back. Ruins it for everyone else.So... I didn't sell 11 chickens today. The guy messaged me at Noon and said he would let me know when he dropped his son off so I would have an idea of when he would get here. I haven't heard a word from him since.
So, I had a lady message me earlier today about some chickens. She wants 2 Buffs, 2 New Hampshires, 2 of my Mixed pullets, and 1 of my Bantam Cochin/Choc Orp Cockerels.
So, I pulled 2 of the Buffs I promised to to the no-show aside for the night (I put them in a crate inside a secure coop I have some chicks in) and I'm going to catch the other 4 birds in the morning. She said she will be here around noon. I hope she shows.
How often are bird sales no-shows?
Awesome! My not so little Milk Drinker said his first sentence today.
He picked up my tea mug and said "Dis is mommy cold tea!"
He calls my mug "cold tea" because when I hand it to my DH to refill, that is what I ask for.

Well, I don't feel bad about selling two of the Buffs he wanted to another party, especially when he dropped out of contact. I think I'll come up with a holding policy. You have until dusk on the day that you say you are going to get the birds to pick them up (especially if you don't contact me). If you don't, I can't guarantee that they will still be there when you call back.It really varies. I had one guy that had already bought a bunch of birds and wanted more.
