My neighbors say they don't mind, and we spend time with both sides of our closest neighbors, so I think they would tell me the truth. But now my big BCM rooster is getting some good full-grown lungs, and starting to worry me a bit.

Buildings and fences help block the sound some. I couldn't tell if there are any fences already in place??
I'm so used to full sized roosters that I just started busting up laughing when I heard one of the BC/CO cockerels I have crowing. He sounds like a squeaky toy!

The Milk Drinker's fever is a bit lower, but he still doesn't want to eat and is very cuddly and fussy if not cuddled. I didn't sleep well last night. He slept for 10.5 hours last night but he did wake a little looking for cuddles and because he was uncomfortable. Every time he moved, I woke up.
Pedialyte on hand?

I had dreams where the neighbors complained so I was installing that egg carton looking soundproofing stuff in the coop. Then of course they were eating it. LOL
Because if my odd shift the birds aren't outside till about 9am anyway. Most people are well into their work day by then. I've noticed too the boys are quiet until disturbed. There has been a painter at the house recently and I can tell when he comes off the ladder and walks around. Crowing commences! Up the ladder and not being loud or moving around a lot, boys are quiet. So I'm hoping they will be quiet while the majority of ppl are home.

I am glad i don't have neighbors close by to complain.

Aww you wouldn't be hated people will just start calling you "that hillbilly woman and her tatering chickens" I actually got a Christmas card addressed that way last year lol! My own fault though, so many people have gotten chickens around here since I started
hillbilly see hillbilly do I guess. The people who sent the card didn't realise where they'd moved to lol! I give them "artisan" eggs now so they aren't quite such snob butts.:)
Proximity to neighboors was one of my biggest concerns.
I didn't hear other chickens but I know they are allowed. There are actually no ordinances other then living conditions of the animals. I could have a horse in the backyard.... as long as it's taken care of it's legal.
Rough guess is that the houses are 50' apart and proposed coop is 100' back.
I know I'm within my legal right but I would rather not be the most hated neighbor in the first crow.
