It makes me worried for when I leave. :( I don't put food out for her or leave extra water around. But I also don't purposely not leave it around.;) Hoping to give her the idea of how to find it, with just a little help.:D
 
I picked 3 cuckoo marans pullers that needed a new home. They were chicks at the time and had not been out with other flock. Did the quarantine thing and they've been with the flock for 2 months now. But....

They all have different comb/waddle development. Of course I'm worried about that one in the back! Looks like a rooster to me.

Thoughts anyone? Pubic bones have spread a little. No squatting but no crowing either.

It goes by in the blink of an eye.

Think of us like the squatchers watchers soap opera. Lots of interesting characters, take up an hour of your time each day, a lot of conversational banter, some silliness and a good measure of tears too....
but you can pick up the plot any where along the line and figure out what’s going on or we’ll fill you in later...

That’s what friends are for !



oh my goodness! Carrie is a beautiful mama and the tiny one peeking out is so dang cute!

Carrie is an exchequer serama. :)
She got her name last year when she was one ferocious momma and some pics I took of her, she had demon red eyes! Lol

From another hen (yet unnamed, black and white serama) these 2 had horrible pasty butt, but thier momma is fierce, so I had to wait till dark and grab them to wash their behinds. They are 10 days old. Look like perfect twins.

Pullet, she is just getting close to POL faster than the others. No need to worry.

with that large red comb it , looks like a trio to me too

Lol. Carrie. The movie. I have a story.
Sissy Spacek lives in the town we last lived in and shopped where I worked.
She’s a huge star but lives this quiet life when she’s not working. She always waltzed in like a spring breeze.
There were two people in that town who would set the
whisper chain in motion. Her and Dave Matthews. It would go into overdrive because we all liked both of them and thought of them as “our celebrities”.
People would say “Dave’s in the house!”
Or
“Have you seen Sissy?”

Most people gave her and her family space, but every once in a while a big fan - maybe someone who wasn’t a local, or who didn’t know she lived there- would be dumbfounded to see “a star” in that town and kinda cross the line and really gush and fawn over her and try to engage her in a long conversation.

I never once saw her be rude or uppity. She was truly the most socially graceful people I’ve ever observed. Her daughters were lovely too.
She made a point to speak and always managed to ask a question and then really seemed to listen to you as if your reply was important to her. Her whole face engages when she smiles. Yeah. I like her a lot and enjoyed waiting on her.

exchequer Is a new chicken vocabulary word. I’ll have to look it up. Whatever it means I feel a real attraction to Carrie! She’s a beautiful girl.

And @Redhead Rae , I think that girl of yours is!

A girl I mean. Her brow is a little straight but her frame says female and the spacing between her legs says girl and also she’s got no saddle feathers showing that I can see and I think if she were a cockerel they’d be there by now.
Just my opinion.

I’m going to sleep I think.
DH is snoring.
Tough day for him.
His Dad fell yesterday and the dang siblings should have but didn’t take him to the hospital. And they spent an hour fighting over who should go check on him before anything got done.

He didn’t have any visible injuries but he should have been checked out.
They didn’t agree with my opinion.

Then he fell again today. So this time they listened to us. The hospital admitted him.
So at least he’s safe and being cared for, for a few days.

DH is pissed at his worthless siblings and worried for his dad.
It’s be a blessing if he’d pass in his sleep because if the past month is any indication, his two kids up their aren’t going to change their behavior in his lifetime. It’s so sad.
