Gardener question—

I have a plant that looks like mint. Can’t remember ever seeing flowers on it. Here’s the kicker—it smells sorta like citronella. What on earth is it?

There are various Lemon Mints... Photo would help.

It’s probably either bee balm or lemon balm.
Both look like mint but smell lemony/citronella-y

I planted a sprig of lemon balm last year and it grew very vigorously. Sorry to say I didn’t do much with it other than crush the leaves and add them to my tea while brewing, (delicious) but oh how I love to pass my hands gently over the leaf tops , then smell my hands deeply.
Call it aromatherapy!
I also love to do this with rosemary.

Well that and some comphry and some snow drops.... hhmmm.... there are daffodils everywhere. LOL

I do the same thing. I love the way it smells. I could grow herbs just for the aroma therapy. I love the smell of fresh basil too. I'm looking for a climbing plant that looks good over winter too. I plan on putting up some fence but thought to make it more private I'd plant something on it. I absolutely hate morning glory! That stuff is so invasive. I thought about honey suckle.... maybe even some grapes, but I'm worried they would get to heavy.
