Pretty birds Nunny! That black one is thick! The white one is a girl right? I still don't know about the black one, those are some sturdy legs but Marlene has really thick legs too.:)
That black bird is killing me! It was a chubster from the start so always been beefy. I saw taterhead go after it today. Not sure if he thought he wanted to mate or wanted to dominate. I’m not sure taterhead knew what he was doing. He sometimes has mashed taters for brains.

Pretty sure the white one is a girl. It’s a Silkie Cross mom x Isbar dad. Has the black skin of the silkie and slight leg feathering but not a single silkie feather. Pretty sure that’s where the hairdo comes from too. It’s a delicate prim bird. If I set her on my hand she immediately settles like she’s roosting. And starts the modeling.

I got the first wall up for the coop today. Hubby not pleased. Whatever. 20180811_163551.jpg

The black one is stunning in light. I can’t capture the colors in pictures. All over purples and blues and greens.

My Australorp always just look black in pictures too. The black birds are really pretty in person.

I can see how that one would be a giant question mark. The wattles are pink BUT I am 85% sure that one is a girl.

Can't blame a taterhead for trying!:lau
Watched taterhead dance for my other rooster. :lau
Needless to say he didn’t get any.
Hubs turned the lights off on the girls last night which is a big no-no. I don't just turn them off I wait until everyone is settled and then I do it, if not it is freak out city. Well since he freaked them out Rene figured out she can jump to the brooder edge to scream for me...great. I especially love it because she's the loudest.
