Just be ready for it to be thinner than a jam. It's super delish though.

I am right there with ya'll about the shortening of names. Oh what fun to be constantly called Barbie.
:barnie

:yesss: In reading the name Kyra I pronounced it correctly in my head.

Got it Rae. It's David not Dave or Davey. My hubby is Richard. Yup NOT Rich, Ritchie, Rick, or that other common shortening.:smack

What, Dick?:gig

Yep just old timey grapes lol! Iv'e got scuppernong grapes too which are just the white muscadines. The jelly will probably be scuppernong the white ones don't eat snatched up as fast as the purple ones so I might get enough lol! Three big vines and one decent sized vine this year so I might have a chance.:)
What are muscadine? I like new and interesting things!
LOL now I feel silly. I looked it up. It's a variety of GRAPES! :gig
I don't know much bout grapes it appears. :lau

I miss goose berries. They make an interesting tart jelly. Man I don't miss the thorns though.
:th

I had to reduce the amount of sugar the recipe called for. It would have been way to sweet.
That made it not set like jam but good golly it tastes very peachy and summer like.

It's so worth it RJ! Get some of those yummy peaches!

Side note.....
I talked to my bee keeping neighbor about the tree spraying. He said if he had been told he could have kept his bees closed in too. He lost a colony this last winter too and is down to 2 now.
I think he is ok until they spray the trees in the back yard. Where his hives are the drift/overspray would hit the hives directly.

I got "blessed" with Rhonda in 1969. Surprisingly, the were 2 others with the same name in my 1st grade class. My mom was Lois, but was always called Luis the first day of school. Her last name didn't make things any better, as it was Christ, and everyone pronounced it in the biblical way. The "i" is a short vowel, not long, and she is definitely not related to the other pronunciation. Of course I should be shot, too, my DDs are Jennifer, Loretta, Katie and Kelly. They are also known by Jenn, Rae, Bug and Skeeter, just to make sure that I really do deserve to be shot. Each of their full names has some reference to a favorite relative, and they know it, but not all of them like their names at the moment. (Just to show our sense of humor, we joke that my mom should have had a brother named Jesus, pronounced the traditional Hispanic way. Imagine THAT on the first day of school :lau:lau:gig:gig:gig)

Everyone always got my first name right, but it was my last name they were constantly messing up. My maiden name was Carrow, pronounced like arrow with a C on the front. People were constantly mispronouncing it. In fact, if someone on the phone asked for Mr. or Mrs. Car-row, 95% of the time, they were telemarketers. My brother actually had a school year book where they showed his last name as Carroll. My married name is almost as fun. I think a lot of telemarketers are embarrassed to say Cockerham which is pronounced exactly as spelled. Hey, it is a great last name to have when you get into breeding chickens!
I love how people add extra letters. My maiden name is Goff, people say Golf.. Like do you see and L in there?! I love Cockerham! You could have a farm and sell pigs and chickens and have a little picture of a rooster and a pig next to each other on a sign! Or a Rooster ON a pig! Absolutely adorable.

Soooo.... I’m Kimberly. Not Kim and never ever Kimmy. My Mom wanted a name that couldn’t be shortened but my sister picked my name.

Growing up when kids would call the house if they asked for Kim they were told “no one by that name lives here.” As an adult I always introduce myself as Kimberly yet people always shorten it. If I’m introduced by another person who calls me Kim I put my hand out to shake and say “Kimberly.” Then before the exchange is done ask their name again, even if I remember it, because generally people will double check what my name is and say “Kimberly” yet again. It never ceases to amaze me how people automatically assume it’s ok to call you something different.

And no I don’t mind FNF or Nunny. LOL
I know someone whose name is Penny. Not Penelope, Penny. People always think it's a nickname, but her mom specifically wanted her name to be Penny. I think people usually assume that people always going by typical nicknames for certain names, like Becky for Rebecca, Liz for Elizabeth, Jes for Jessica, Jenn for Jennifer. My daughter's friend is Lilia, I assumed her name was Lillian and it was a nickname, but it's Lilia. Her other friend is named Isis, that gets a lot of odd looks. Another friend is Trinity.. so they all have difficult names. You know what nickname April gets you.. Apey, no thank you.

The current name we are working with is Hen of the Woods Farm. This is the logo we came up with.

I never understood how Richard became Dick. There's no D or K in Richard.
Growing up my mom called me PeeWee. After the Paul Reubens scandal I told her that needed to stop. LOL I then somehow became Missy. Like "Listen here Missy." as she probably shook a finger at me. :lau
I don't have a problem with nicknames or if you want to be called something else. I just don't like the assumption that's it's ok to shorten my given name. It's so hard to go back once it's stuck. Grew up with "Billy". When he went to college he decided to go by his given name Clyde. I'll never be able to call him that! He was Billy my whole life. People from my small town that went to the same college had to adapt and now when I hear "I talked to Clyde the other day...." I ask who? " You know, Billy." Ha ha ha
