My husband was mortified, i'm actually pretty proud of that.:)
At least you didn't eat it.

Did you turn it off? You'll find out who's using it when they can't. :gig

BWAHAHAHA Gold star post of the day!! :clap
I considered it, but I wanted to make sure that it wasn't just something that happened and people forgot to tell me about it. The manager is going to go talk to the township about it today to see if it's theirs... if not, I'm pulling the plug.

I didn't help things, after I saw the terror I blurted out "its just a breakfast escapee!" Lady got her purse and sat outside. Hubs says " you could have put chicken in front of breakfast ya know." :caf
bahahahahahahhahhaaaaaa. I've found that a simple.. "I have chickens" clears up so much.

I did say on the way home I should have ate it. And I should have said "chickens" but i'm a little socially defunct and really have never had anyone give me the look that lady did so I blurted. I guess I take for granted not everyone has worms in their bra.:idunno

So I signed papers this morning! :fl Nothing goes wrong until I take physical possession. I did get more pictures of the “coop”.

Front:Overhead door is rotten at top and bottom. Outside frame is also pretty done for.

The large hole I then took the inside pictures through. LOL

The right side without roof.

What’s in the hole. Looks like some sort of wood floor was there.

The wood chipper I inherited. You can see some cement by the overhead door. Inside beams look good.

Inside right. Again beams don’t look bad.

A large hole...pretty sure this is how my tenant took up residence.

FNF!!!

I am happy for you!! :wee

Taking that door down should be done from inside, top down. It's a 2+ person job. You be careful please.

Yup lots of work to do.

It looks like it was sided with wafer board. That stinks. HOWEVER if it is solid I think you can get away with just doing the lower 2' or so. Just to make it secure so you can save up for future full residing. That would save money initially but cost more in the long run.
:barnie

I know you will get er done!

Oddly a lot of the peak on the front and back are rotten too. If you look at the picture of the back you can see what looks like rain diverter or drip edge maybe. Right above that is all rotten.
It may be worth it to just do it all at once. I’ll salvage any material I can and reuse it.
I’m really hoping the wood chipper works! Free mulch for the chicken run!

Yay Nunny! I'm so happy for you! Your building is framed up really good that is awesome. That particleboard though, it is very strong but it needs paint to survive. That flex seal stuff they advertise on T.V comes in gallons now and is just liquid rubber i'd advise painting with that on the bottom pieces to keep water out of the particleboard. It looks like water took it out to begin with. They left you some stuff to sell or use too, how nice! :)

There's a push mower in there too. Some other random things. A few wooden ladders are around as well as a wheel borrow and a dolly.
As frustrated as I've been with the whole situation the woman who is living there is the daughter of the actual owner. She is having such a hard time emotionally dealing with it all. Her Mom is alive but in a nursing home. So she had been tasked with taking care of everything. She's hugged me repeatedly for taking over the family home and not wanting to change it. (Other then some cosmetic things.)
She's so excited I want to make it my forever home. Told me today she'd love for me to meet her Mom. "So she could know what a lovely lady the house is going to."

Awww, that is so sweet! It has to be really hard on her and not dealing with a butthole during the process means the world to her i'm sure.:) Out of curiosity are you going to meet the mom or would it just be too much?
