Morning pictures of the little hens. Rene has discovered biting is fun, just wonderful. Ugh it is wet and nasty out there.:caf

Well I’m a terrible mom. I was exhausted and freezing this morning so didn’t get out of bed. This dreary weather really gets to me. So I finally make it out and they need water outside. I go into the coop and the food bucket is knocked over and completely empty. I have several food stations and they are all empty. I start filling everything and they are all stuffing themselves like they haven’t had food in a week.

I may have given taterhead the scare he needed though. I use an empty plastic coffee can as a scoop. As I’m trying to fill food containers he gets touchy and knocks it out of my hand. I picked it up and threw it at him. He ran for it but I picked it up and threw it at him again. That’s when he ran sorta backwards and into the lid of the metal trash can I keep their food in. It fell over on him with a loud crash and he hightailed it out of the coop looking over his shoulder the whole time. :gig Any other chicken and I would have felt bad. That jerk deserves a good scare.

The neighbors have a basement the animals and I are welcome in so we are not tatered if it gets too bad. Their giant house really blocks a whole lot of the wind. In the 65mph storm I only lost one tree and my power never went out. They lost five or six and didn't have power for days.
Maybe have an escape plan?

Leave if told to. Here many do not leave during a fire evacuation order. It often makes for a sad story

Nunny! I'm clutching my pearls over here!:gig
