I am up to my eyeballs in quail. Must have over 100. I am building a second duplex chicken coop because my Tolbunt Polish and Crested Cream Legbars are growing up.

Today i built the last panel for the 2nd run and tacked the welded wire on it. Hope to put it up tomorrow. I also started putting the welded wire roof on the run today. But darkness hit around 8 pm. I put the first nest box up today, i have 2 more built, and one to go.
Hope everyone has a great night and stays dry! Love your birds, Suzi!

How do you like the clear roof panels? Do they hold up well? Thinking of using those with the galvanized to make some skylights.

Hey Sammy! :frow
Hey pbm
Oh my goodness....where to start. Yes my smooth Serama hatched 3 chicks but one didn't make it. DH named the chicks Magnus/Magnolia and Maury/Mavis and I think they are both Silky. My rooster is a silky Serama. I certainly hope my chicks aren't roos....don't want to piss off any neighbors with more roosters.
Smuv and I had a great trip.....hard to believe it was 4 months ago. PIC was delightful .....such a sweet boy. We had some killer food and got matching rooster tatoos.
PBM .....I really appreciate you asking about me. Hope you are well. View attachment 1532571 View attachment 1532572 View attachment 1532573View attachment 1532574

I have them on my hoop coop for the past year. So far so good! I have also used shower doors as skylights with good results.

@apryl29 Don't worry about me i'll be just fine. I'm not even worried about me. Just a bunch of rain and some semi-gnarly wind. @staceyj , now that lady needs all the worrying she's right up it's nose.
Got the coop shoveled out, taking a break before I put more hay down. Trying to make it as comfy as possible in case any of mine want to be smart and stay in there. My lord though, so much poop! Didn't look like much but it was! :)
Yeah, worrying doesn't work like that. I keep watching the news and it doesn't sound great from here. Glad you're not too worried about it though. It's like earthquakes in CA, or tornadoes in Kansas. They're used to them so it's not a big deal, but those of us who never see that stuff get freaked out when they happen.

Everything is at least loose. I didn't want to be on an unstable ladder alone. There is a big piece in the back that's hanging by just it's top. Could not get it free to save myself.
Wow. Great progress. How long do you have til you have to be out of your old place?

Omg YES!!! My butterfly weed did it's flipping job and iv'e got Monarchs baby!!! I'm sooo happy!:wee View attachment 1532366 View attachment 1532367 View attachment 1532368
Awesome! I have a friend who raises, tags and releases them. I used to do it, but after my parent's moved we lost our milkweed patch. One year my friend released over 200 butterflies. So glad to see they're making a comeback. A year or 2 ago she didn't even get 10 caterpillars. It was really sad. Watch out for stink bugs, they will kill the caterpillars.

I didn't get that far. LOL You were coming on vacation to Ohio?
My zip code to "New Jersey" is 8 hrs...
Yeah.. we just did that drive, it's more like 10 when you consider gas / bathroom stops and traffic, and if you take the pike you're looking at $100+ in tolls.

OhMyGasp! Those babies are adorable! You have such beautiful birds! Sorry for your losses, but happy for your gains. Fingers crossed for girls.

Hi Cappy......I'm here. Been a busy summer. I've added some new additions and lost a few . My CCL and one of my Bantam Cochins died over the summer and my wonderful dog Sawyer had to be put down last week. We miss him so much but it was for the best. He had been very sick and his quality of life had faded. But on a happier note I've added to my flock
....a black splash Ameraucana, a White Frost and my 2 new Serama chicks. Hope you and the bunnies are well :hugs
Oh Suzi, I’m so sorry about Sawyer. Dogs don’t last long enough, in my opinion.
