Hot sunny and dry for the moment. If Florence ever leaves you and follows it's predicted path I might see the westerly edge. Just to brighten your day, the teenagers got to come out today and checkout the pasture. They're out exploring now, so hoping everyone comes home for dinner.:fl

You got so many chickens! That is so neat. Don't know how you do it just having 11 makes my head spin sometimes.:)

Those are just the tini boppers... Got babies in grow out pens and the adults too. I think I have you know 12 or 15 chickens:gig
:gig

isn't that the truth
I lost count at 47 chicks this year... lost count at 30 hens this spring
I have no idea how many I have :lau

Whoa, I would have a episode with all those the way I fret over them. I have considered maybe two more since I don't have any white eggs and I don't know how long i'm going to have Marlene the disaster hen. Can't even ponder the thought until spring, i'm just getting these last babes in the groove of things.:)

Hello Everyone! We are having a nice sunny, but hot day here. We'll be getting the remnants of Florence coming our way tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday. We decided we are going to do some chicken butchering on Monday when it is in the 70s and cloudy/rainy rather than today when it is too hot and humid to work in the sun. We decided to clear out the storage in the back corner of the garage, which we will be turning into a coop. One side of that opens onto our garden which will be the winter run for our birds. I'm aiming to get down to 60ish birds to keep over the winter.

Still hot and dry here in the desert.
Plants are all wilted and tired looking.

Thanks buddy. Im trying to stay “zen” down here.
What’s your weather looking like?

Being on here is:
A. Keeping me out of dh’s hair while he works from the dining room table, and

B. It’s keeping me from killing my daughter.
I feel guilty to have the luxury of some power to run a fan and a lamp and charge my phone, and she’s complaining about food.

At this point, everyone’s else’s food is long since spoiled.

If the rain would stop I could get out there and kick a path to the grill and COOK something yummy.

I feel fairly certain that there are options for food at your house. (Thinking I would be pointing at the kitchen and saying "There's food in there." )
Maybe she's stressing out a bit and taking it out on you.

Perhaps a game of cards or monopoly will help.....

I am very glad ya'll ain't swimming at this point!

Gawd our power has been out for two weeks before. We got down to just eating handfuls of cereal and drinking warm pepsi. Didn't gripe though, it wouldn't have helped anything. When we could finally get out "we were snowed in" everyone looked terrible! Greasy, dirty, hungry as a mofo. It is funny now, but not when it happened.:lau
