Poor girl has always been so low in the pecking order. The bottom is my guess. I would agree she is in shock. I’m worried about neurological issues.
She was eating then I started to video. She will shake her head a bit then the “ticking” motion starts. Once she’s calmed down again it’s no where near as bad. The flock very well could have pecked her in the head. I don’t see any wounds and her breathing seems fine. Her nares are clear. No discharge from eyes or ears. She eats then I can hear gurgling from her. Her crop is about ping pong ball sized now. She must have been having a harder time eating then I thought. She’s unbelievably thin.
If she makes it another day, she will likely recover. Chickens can regrow brain tissue.

She looks sweet!

Me too Rae, these are this guys first bees and of course he didn't learn anything about them so here they are. I watch him in his little bee suit constantly messing with the poor things. Honestly i'm surprised they've stayed as long as they have.:rant
That explains a lot. It makes me mad when people don't leave their bees enough honey to live through the winter or expect them to survive on sugar water. Bees make honey for a reason, they need it. They will die if you take it all, and they will not be well if you give them a crappy substitute.

Poor sweet baby!! You are such a good momma. You comforting her and talking to her at the end of the video brought me to tears....

I'm glad she is eating. I so hope she makes it, sweet little chooky.:hugs

Well she’s not constipated! I was feeding her right before I have to leave for work and tried to look her over again. Went to look in her eye to see if there is a reason she doesn’t want to open it.
She started throwing a tantrum and screaming. Then exorcist style spewed diarrhea all over me and the laundry room. The smell was something words cannot describe. I put my clothes (including my underwear) directly in the washing machine. Added the rug and put anything else that was in the line of fire in the wash tub where the washer drains. Like a two for one wash. I can still smell it on me. I’m going to wash up past my elbows again and leave.

ETA: She ate a little more then dozed off.

Well Nunny i'm no expert but i'd say her eye hurts.:lau

I swear I can still smell it! Think cecal poo with a touch of "I don't feel well" and a tad bit of "maybe I'm really dead." I thought about getting pictures but I was so soaked in it I couldn't move. My phone was in the house and I was trying not to vomit.
What cracks me up is she then settled in for a snooze. "Oh good. That feels better. Mom you'll clean that up. Night."

Hehe of course she passed out! She was POOPED! They can really bake you some special muffins when they don't feel good. That rooster did that at the vet's office when the girl looking at him pulled on his bum leg. I was holding him and he literally painted her brown. Poor little prissy thing, waterproof mascara does not mean butt waterproof. She looked like a chitty raccoon. My dad laughed so hard his falsies fell out.:lau

It was nasty. Of course the dogs are out going potty before I leave. So there I am-- naked in the laundry room, trying not to vomit, yelling at the dogs to get in the house (of course they start barking) figuring out what has poo on it and what doesn't. Where did poop all get to, is it running under stuff? How did it get over there? And Sugar is snuggled up in her towel sleeping. Poor girl. I'm sure she feels better. What came out of her didn't look like it should come out of anything still alive.

I swear I can still smell it on me.

Lol! The joys of chickens right? You'll be smelling that poop for days and finding it longer. Bet you never thought in a millon years Sugar would get you naked.;)

@FlyingNunFarm

Nunny I’ve been out his afternoon and have been thinking of you and sugar.

Is she due to lay any eggs?
My chickens are switched off right now, but if sugar’s been laying, be on the look out for that or the problem of eggs backing up.

Questions in my mind:
Would vitamin e and selenium help in this type of case where you suspect possible head trauma, to give specific nutritional support during healing?

Would a baby aspirin help with pain and possible inflammation or ..........would it possibly cause a bleed?

Since you have dogs, I’ll throw this out there:
Would you by any chance have any tylosin soluble powder (such as to treat for dog diarrhea)?
It is the same med as Tylan that we can buy at tsc , but is by rx. It’s in a powder form and is meant to be sprinkled on a dog’s food.
In addition to being an antibiotic, it is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties.
