It was chicken moving day!

The girls. 8 of them in a dog carrier and tiny Frannie in my lap.
I had moved the small flock of chicken city to the coop before I went to get the girls. Egret was thrown into the deal with the others because she was known for being bossy. I thought for sure her and B!tch Pudding would have it out. Nope.
Clayton thought he was in heaven will all these new ladies. Then he met B!tch Pudding. She said no and meant it.

Yep, a chunk of comb I pulled from her beard! She lives up to her name yet again.

Everyone was finding their places on the new roosts.

Petunia was making friends with one of the D'Uccle girls.

The OE boys that I was hoping not to move couldn't decide who was top rooster. LOL

Did I mention it was a muddy day? The bottom of my boot was sucked off!

Oh lordie. I would have loved to watch all that play out.

Love shoveling snow except when there is a deadline to meet. My brother comes once a week so driveway HAS to be shoveled from one end to another to satisfy him. Good sized driveway plus have to deposit all the snow left at foot of driveway elsewhere, and open up the street to the next house. The plow guys don't think we have to get out of the driveway. Everyone(men) else uses a snow blower. I use my sacred snow shovel.
I'm the only woman on the block to do so.

Poor Clayton didn't know what to do. He was soooo excited with all these new mature ladies. Danced for B. Pudding and she said no. He tried again and she full on started a fight. They tussled and both ended up soaked in mud and injured.
Still a little work to do on the coop. But they have a safe place to run around and sleep. Heated waterer is plugged in. I'm sure I'll tweak things as time goes by but having them here will be so much easier.

That is wonderful! The getting them moved part not the comb or boot part.

They have lots and lots of space to sort the pecking order out.
:love

I moved them with some work to do so I could be out there and monitor. Going to finish bleaching feeders and waterers tomorrow. I have the nest boxes to put in too.
I have to fix one dog tie out. She was so excited to see the chickens she ran at them barking and broke hers!
