This is one thing that annoys me about Christmas. I always tell my kids I don't need/ want a gift. My gift is them not fighting for the day (I've never gotten it.. but they do try). Last year my youngest insisted on getting me a new coffee maker when mine was perfectly fine. She used her own money she'd been given as gifts which isn't right, IMO. But their dad is a different story. He expects a gift and will have a fit if he thinks it's not good enough. They also can't share a gift. And they have to get something for his wife and his parents (her mom is JW so they don't get her a gift). This ticks me off to no end. IMO THEY should take the kids shopping and get the gifts instead of expecting the kids or me to buy them. My kids don't get an allowance so they're either spending money they were given as a gift or my $$ to buy their gifts. I can't not help the kids b/c they get really stressed out about it. I've always had them exchange gifts with each other since they were little and that's fun, but it's not super expensive and it helps them b/c they get to think about their sister and what they like. Of course, I pay for that so I don't expect them to use their for that. When they're older and have jobs then they can decide what they want to keep doing it. I don't do gift exchanges for my brother's kids. None of us do. We spend our $$ on our own kids instead. I just don't understand when people expect every person in the extended family to buy gifts for everyone else. It just seems excessive.

Wow, that's so stressful and unreasonable. Christmas is about giving, not receiving and to expect and basically demand something, especially from the kids is just heartbreaking :(

@staceyj

I can highly recommend this toy too.

I have 2 of them and mine are still like new even after 16 years.
Seriously my dogs use and play with these regularly!
Not kidding you they are awesome!

I put a handful of a dog food that I buy as treats in it and the dogs work the toy to get the treats.
I use Taste Of The Wild in them. Its expensive food and was to much for Jack to handle after his surgery so it's a treat now.

By the way the price is fantastic! I paid $20 each when I got mine years and years ago.
I’ll see you a green treat ball and raise you an orange one!
This is my fav.
I have about three of them around the house.
Cooper eats breakfast out of it as an “activity” while I drink my coffee in the morning.
The funny thing is I have a small one too. About the size of a tennis ball.
THAT ONE IS THE CAT’S!
I finally got him his own because he loves to help cooper in the morning!

Stay safe! Of course I had no idea about this b/c we don't hear about weather happening to other places unless it's 12 feet of snow or a hurricane.
I agree that’s excessive. Maybe they could make a batch of cookies or brownies (something that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to make) instead of a storebought gift.
That way they are still “giving” but it’s not costing them or YOU as much!

That is awesome! I love that kitty needed his own.

Good afternoon! I'm stocked up and ready for the weekend ice craziness. The stores are already a dang warzone so we will be eating "interestingly" to say the least. I was lucky enough to get a gallon of milk but the bread isle was sad. I did score a 12 pack of hamburger buns, so anything sandwichy is fun on a bun. Got some birdseed/budget chicken food and a little waaaay overpriced watermelon to stove off any boredom riots. I'm good to go.:yesss:
I hope the ice is not too bad!

We are up to 50°. I love it when the waterers aren't frozen.
I think i may be catching something, i have a sore throat and a stuffy nose. :(
Ugh. I hate that “ I might be getting sick” feeling !

I keep that stuff emergen-C on hand.
It sort of tasty.
Super orange is the best I think.
Massive dose of c and b’s
I tell myself it’s TANG!
Remember that stuff?
