I''m pretty certain I'll be doing some swap outs, I like the Cochins because they are ok layers for how much meat they give. Their breast meat is about half way between traditional DP bird and a Cornish. Plus, I think their feet produce more gelatin in my stock than other birds. I may get a more dependible year round egg laying breed. But not 100% sure on that.
Cochins?? Really?

my rir have bean bad this winter
RiRs lay the first winter real well--Nearly all pullets will do that the first year. The second year that either completely stop of slow way down. They are listed as winter layers but will slow down.

Look for the snow flake in the egg field of the chart. Buckeye is the first breed that is a winter layer on the chart

I was just joking!!! I don’t feel stalked. :love
Some folks get paranoid about being stalked - present company not included. They think just because you arrived at a thread that they posted on - you are following them.
In 9 years I've acquired a lot of threads I visit when I get around to them. It's not conspiracy it called coincidence. I also go back if/when I see the thread has added a number of new responses. Why not? :idunno
