So true! Dylan the Parrot hates gloves. If you try to get her to step up with a glove on she will bite. People with gloves have done her wrong in the past, obviously. For chickens, having them tame enough to handle will make it difficult to stuff them in the cone, but not because they are protesting.
Is she the bird in your avatar?

Of course, I agree! Some people seem to think that Greys are not pretty enough, and she does have a long neck that reminds some of a Vulture when she is watching for treats!
Right now I only have outside birds, but I had parakeets for quite a long time. Every time I buy rabbit food at the pet store, I stop by the bird section and stare longingly at the exotic tiny ones. Mainly the finches. They're my favourites, for some reason.

Finches remind me of a tank of tropical fish, always in motion. Somehow soothing to watch, and the little peeps they make are so soft and pleasant. Dylan and other large parrots are more like dogs, they need our company. Finches and fish, just fun to watch.

The parrots are beautiful, but between the price tag and those sharp beaks, I probably won't ever have one.

My goodness, do you raise dinosaurs?
Yes, spoiled chunky dinosaurs. :)

Those are some rough and tumble pullets!

:th
I know! I'm shocked!

You know if I was there I would have peed my pants laughing!
:gig:gig

He should have known better than to dare touch the treat lady!
Yeah, he didn't learn a thing from the squirrels. You definitly don't touch the food lady, and you really don't touch her if she's not done doleing out the food. I had strawberries for pete's sake, i'm surprised he didn't lose an arm.:gig

There are older parrots who need homes. Dylan was one, she was 22 when I got her off
Craig's List. Yes an $800 price tag is up there. When you consider how long they live, a better deal than a pure-bred dog, IMHO. The beak is for defense, Dylan has never drawn blood. (Unlike many of my chickens in the past)! I did not push her, I have had other parrots (and chickens, dogs, horses) no animal is OK with being threatened.

Never threaten the treat supply!
