Omg! So tickled for you!
My girls reached POL in hot, HOT July.
One of them spent two days going in and out of the nest.
She was so unsure and anxious, she was pitiful!

I sat with her alllllllllll morning!

Laying an egg is a miracle of nature!

I tried to sit out there with her but she clucked louder when I did. Almost like saying "Hey crazy lady can I get some privacy here??? Geez!!" LOL She never did squat like Chicken little did and her egg appears pink? I thought leghorn eggs were white. Do they change color after a few layings or is the first egg color always going to be that color? I'm so new to this lol forgive me if that's a silly question.

Her egg is tinted but she is a leghorn???

No egg color DOESN'T change much. If they laid a colored egg they will always lay a colored egg.

Do you have a picture of her? Is it possible she is a mixed bird maybe?
I thought she was. Here's a picture.

I think unless we grew up on a farm, we’re all convinced every egg is either bright white or a specific hue.
You’ll discover that every bird is unique and learn to tell their eggs apart too!
The color varies from the beginning as their system gets started, all the way through to the end of a laying cycle.
Some of mine ran out of freckles AND paint by the time they paused for molting and winter.
I can’t wait to see what they look like when they start up again.

She looks more like a White Rock than a Leghorn, she has a tidy comb. Leghorns have big floppy combs.
