What do you think caused it?So, I just had to deal with a minor chicken emergency. I looked outside this morning and I didn't see Fat Daddy (my Dark Cornish cock bird). I went out and looked for him and he was standing in the middle of the coop and couldn't figure out how to leave. I pick him up and look at him. His eyes were stuck shut and swollen. I brought him inside, and cleaned him up with warm water on a rag and unstuck his eyes. Fortunately, his eyes are just fine. He was perfectly well behaved and even put up with Thing 1 petting him. We put him in one of our broody setups by himself but inside the garden with the rest of the flock until he heals up a bit. Poor guy has had a rough time.
. I am not going to buy ANYTHING I can grow this spring/summer.

She is the sweetest thing, Suzi. She's the size of a small pigeon and loves to fly onto me. I love her.
I put Flower in with her so she'd have company, and because I'm paranoid about leaving her outside until DH fixes the run.
