We had someone hit our mailbox in town, no animals involved. It sounded like a car crash when he hit. Young guy, probably on his phone. He came and put up a new one.
more accidents from phones than I care to count
this guy went in the steep ditch about 12 ft deep. He said he swerved to miss the animal. Told him he might as well hit it, I had seen it earlier laying there.. pre cell days...my mail was everywhere. Police drove by and took a report.. I put the mailbox backup myself after a few days.

I get to be a wreck over my mailbox. Last house on the street (dead end) everyone comes shooting thru, see the road ends and backs up all over my front lawn. Tiny triangle and the only place I really have grass. All you see is deep tires marks.

When the clowns came out for the electric company 4 days in a row, they left my chain link 12 ft. panel leaning against the garage.Every windy day it falls farther forward. I cannot budge it. So deer will be even happier to see they don't have to jump it.

Actual mail box can be replaced. The cars have trashed the post. It is nearly impossible to dig down in our ground( was a quarry area).:tongue :rantOther mail boxes that have been
be-headed - people tend to set a post in a bucket of cement and stick that on the ground. Then add the mail box.

oh they always get my post, usually I can reuse the box... it's a built up gravel hill. if I dig it in, the back of the hill gives away and it leans away from the road...even with concrete.
I get those drive in metal for 4x4's and use a sledge hammer. I have 3 in reserve... usually the snow plow throws heavy wet snow and bends the metal... or the mowing crew backs the brush hog into it.

Hey guys. I survived the weekend, but not unscathed. I didn’t sleep well either night. Two nights ago I just couldn’t sleep. Last night, I had a muscle spasm in my left shoulder. A bath helped, but I woke up at 1:30 this morning with horrible nerve pain shooting from my neck across the top of my shoulder, down the back of my arm to my elbow, the outside of my wrist and through my pinky and ring finger. No my range on motion isn’t really limited, but it HURTS constantly and I can’t find any position that really helps. I know what I need to do, which is see my chiropractor, but I need to get home first. We have a couple errands and a midwife appointment for me on the way home. I’ll just have to push through it. My mom is with me and Thing 1, so she’ll drive and do the heavy lifting. I’m going to stop and get some of those chemical ice packs to see if that helps with the pain. I’m wary of taking anything because I’m pregnant and this is the type of pain that Tylenol won’t touch for me. I just need to get the cause of the pain taken care of.

Wish me luck.

Wow... I need to know if that was their chicken, or not. I'm surprised they didn't look under the hood first though.. if I had the same complaint I'd at least take a look under the hood. Poor chicken.

THIS IS A WARNING

POTENTIAL DANGER OF CHICKEN FEATHERS~ In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the feathers of chickens. This substance, called "amo-bacter poulteri" has been linked with the following symptoms in female humans: *reluctance to cook *reluctance to perform housework *reluctance to wear anything but boots *reluctance to work except in support of a flock *physical craving for contact with chickens (may be an addiction) Beware! if you come in contact with a female human affected by this substance be prepared to talk about chickens for hours on end. This was a public service announcement ... Surgeon General's Warning: Chickens are expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense. Be careful out there ladies....
:gig:gig

Yeah, like Smuv totally has!:(
She's plain abandoned us. I do hope she's doing well though.

I bought 2 and they charged $2.50 for shipping.. the package had a $4 shipping sticker on it.. I felt kinda bad for them
I haven't used it on the chickens, because they are wild and already had bad frostbite.. like they will end up with only a blade bad.
But it works great on me.. wish they had a larger size... not sure what I will do with a bunch of little tins to add to my hoard :barnie
You could make pocket sewing kits, tiny candles, refill them w/ lip balm for gifts, use them for travel size containers for things like vicks, hair clips & ties, eye lashes, one of those fire starter camping kits... I'd think almost anything you'd reuse a pill bottle for you could re-use the containers for...

Hopefully your midwife can give you some suggestions for safe pain meds. I know my dr's office gave me a list of things I could and couldn't have while pregnant, but it's been forever so I don't remember anything for pain except OTC tylenol & ibuprofen.
Have a safe drive home. I hope the ice packs help & they get you fixed up.

Oh owie, sounds just like the problem i had with a pinched nerve in my neck. Time and physical therapy helped me. But it was miserable for about a month.
