OMG you guys are all making me feel so much better! It’s good to know I’m not alone! :D

I used to watch Horders on A&E. Two reasons, it made me feel better that I wasn’t hoarding garbage and/or dead things. And it made me clean up!
Yep!

I tossed a bag of junk from the Garage and swept up some stuff. I also cleaned out two garbage cans to get the feed back into and put out some rat bait.

I feel much better now!

garbage is subjective
1000 egg cartons are useful.... well I don't need that many, not sure how many I have but I know it's over 500. but with 50+ hens  people bring them back nasty sometimes.
newspaper for the garden and sleeves for picking up after the dog .. I did stop the paper because I wasn't reading it, same with magazines I saved to read...:smack someday

only dead things are in the freezer( remember the eel and hedgehog :gigwell they are gone now) or mounted/tan hides
Pretty sure most people consider used adult diapers and open moldy food containers garbage.
But yes I understand about having a plethora of egg cartons. I stopped counting . I also have mountains of empty feed bags.

That is roughly 3 bags turned into a purse.
I have more fabric then I’d like to admit. And a lot of “I don’t need to save this but I want to.”

Call around and find a place that will take them. Daycares, libraries, teachers/schools, boy/girl scouts. If you have a board of mrdd near you, they might take them. I give a bunch of random stuff to the daycare. I have a friend who works there and she'll take almost anything.. She either uses it for crafts for the kids, or in her room. I even send her old board game pieces b/c the kids are always losing pieces and she uses them to replenish the sets. Toys my kids have out grown go out for the kids to play with. For summer she has a kids camp and takes donations of random items for prizes. I got rid of a bunch of knicknacks & figurines last year doing that. I have a hard time throwing away things that aren't trash, but taking stuff to recycle helps me let it go.
I take stuff to Goodwill. Donated 2 housefulls of stuff when my Dad and Aunt died.
