Good job! You deserve an uncomplicated medical procedure.Dang. I had a colonoscopy today. Had to fart out the air they pump into you. Good report, recheck in 5 years.![]()
Well that would be after noon in August. I’m still thinking on it.Hubby suggests a good hot day, pour in the morning keeping birds outside for the day. It takes quick set concrete about 4 hours to set.
Lol by hot he meant a high around 70.
We have a Berkey, and we love it. It does a good job filtering out the iron in our water but NOT the calcium. Our kettle constantly has calcium flakes in it. It may reduce the calcium some, but I'm not sure by what amount. We rinse out the carbon filters when they get clogged, and we don't replace them very often.I know at least 2 Squatchers mentioned Berkey Filters. What can you tell me about them?
I've looked at them an they aren't cheap but I can't stand the calcium in my water. I want one big enough for me and pets to drink from. And to use at least in my coffee pot if not for other cooking.
I was looking at the Big Berkey. Next up is the Royal.
My questions are how often do you have to replace the filters? Do you use just the black filters or do you add the white filters as well? Is it a pain to refill then wait for all the water to be used before filling it again?
Give me pro and cons...

Thanks Rae and RJ. Concerning it doesn’t seem to take the calcium out. That’s my biggest complaint with the water here. I don’t have a water softener but I know my sister who doesn’t live far from me does have one and she still has calcium issues. Still pondering what to do I guess.
@21hens-incharge I had to use a hammer on the frozen ground in front of my coop door more then once. The claw part made a great chisel. I’d get it open far enough to squeeze in and that was it. Luckily once open closing it wasn’t a problem.
