Official Squatch Watchers

@apryl29 Sir Henry is the one wide awake with his leg out. The only other named one is Kiwi "hopefully my next olive egger" because she looks like a Kiwi, the fruit and the bird.
Worst scenario iv'e got a hen named Henry and a roo named Kiwi.:caf
Those are nice names whether they're boys or girls.. or a pat. I had a hen named Steve that turned into a roo.

Um...Hobo's child is trying to crow. Iv'e heard this noise like a squeak toy being killed a couple times today and that is what it is.:barnie
Isn't that the best?! William crowed early, though not a 2 days old.. It was the funniest little squeak of a crow. So we're at 2 suspected boys and 1 definite boy? Sir Henry, Hobo's son, and the black one w/ the dot on the head?

Did you remember to put sugar in the corid water? It tastes awful without it.
I did not know this...

Good morning or goooob morning! It is raining but at least it isn't cold. Already did battle with a squirrel jumping in the food bowl I did not win.
It is like a pet now, as soon as the bowl goes down here it comes. I don't know if something is wrong or if iv'e just got a squirrel.:caf
Nope... you've got a pet squirrel. Congrats on the other new addition. LOL My dad had one at the shop he used to work at. He'd feed it crackers and peanut butter. He'd keep the food in his toolbox & one day my dad went in late and the guy at the machine next to him told him that his squirrel was looking for him. The guy was afraid of it. The squirrel was sitting on my dad's toolbox waiting for him b/c it wanted some peanut butter. Unfortunately, before the shop closed the squirrel disappeared.
Then last winter my brother was putting out corn to attract deer & all he ended up doing was attracting every single squirrel, chippy, and bird in the area.

I have a gal-friend names Toni and her sister is named Harri.

Her dad wanted to name his kids after his brothers.

Corid- I had it mixed 1.5 tsp/gallon. After that post, I made it 2tsp. I added sugar, although that has been shown to cause diarrhea in adults, but not sure about chickens.
When I got up this morning, she had cleaned her egg bowl and oats/buttermilk bowl and water dish was empty. She has been refilled with everything and 2 diarrhea poops, even got a fresh one to take to the vet this morning. Hubby came home and I slept in an extra hour.

She was ready to hop out of the cage this morning. I will take her to the garage after while, when hubby leaves for turkey hunting. I would like to put her in a small portable run I have, but I don’t want her freaking out again.

When treating a bird for coccidiosis one can give an oral drench in addition to their medicated water. Here are the instructions:

Corid 9.6% liquid - Do not dilute
  • Give 0.1 ml per pound of body weight orally once a day for 1-3 days.
or
  • 0.02 ml per 100 grams of body weight orally once a day for 1-3 days.

Corid 20% powder - Mix 1/2 teaspoon powder with 2 teaspoons water.
  • Give 0.34 ml per pound of body weight orally once a day for 1-3 days.
or
  • 0.07 ml per 100 grams of body weight orally once a day for 1-3 days.
So glad to find that you posted this ! (I’m still catching up, I bookmarked it so I can find it again if I ever need it! :bow

@apryl29 I love that story of your dad. I have a small squirrel at my bird feeder now. My stupid yorkie likes to chase them.
I have 3 friends that have raised baby squirrels. It is on my wish list to do for sure.

During the winter, a young full blooded Blood Hound showed up at my neighbors house. We kept him for a week and looked for the owners, but found him the best home! I will have to share it, but keep you in suspense right now.
