Well turkeys are frustrating
Seen mama hen was off the nest so I ninja'd and swapped eggs out of the incubator... so does she go back to the nest NOOOOO she picks the 2nd spot she had last year instead... there were 2 bait eggs there and I gave her the unmarked turkey egg from the old nest... back to the bator with the turkey eggs ,, all were developing when I checked early this morning.
It is 75 already in the coop and the 2nd spot is cooler... she was in a solid sided metal dog cage (from a shelter) so the other spot is better. hopefully she will stay.
This was her last year in the 2nd spot

I hope the Turkey and the power gets sorted out soon!

Hubs hid the gas can so I had to quit yesterday, that lawnmower will make you pay if you run it dry lol!

Power is back on :jumpy... hen is still on 2nd nest.. will wait a day or so and see if she is satisfied before any ninjaing .. although she had been on the other for a few days.

Most days yes.. they are funny and more aware of things than chickens... when they are adults the hawks don't bother them.
sometime I think my life would be easier with 6 chicken hens only

I have a kong harness for her BUT it is hard to get on her AND she managed to lay my hand open with the metal buckle.

Once you have a chance to use it a bit I’d like to hear your thoughts on it. I have a friend with a 2 yr old lab who is 100% scent driven from an outstanding hunting line. The problem is these people are not hunters! They are older-middle aged couch potatoes.
They’ve had 3 trainers.
She’s bought so many harnesses.
She’s always on the lookout for a better one.
Yes. The kong was amongst her “give to animal shelter” pile.

She will not try a head halter because she’s afraid she’ll hurt the dog if suddenly the dog sees a bunnie or squirrel or something on their walks.

They walk 1.5 hrs daily. The owner now has a torn rotator cuff on one side.

The new harnesses arrived a couple minutes ago.
Sable is finally tired and let me put it in her.
It is pretty nice. It also has a bit of elastic (backed up with strapping) across the back so it should be more comfortable.
It has a longer chest section which helped get the straps out of her armpits. Again that should be more comfortable.

They need a proper fitting choke chain, and learn how to use it. It works and does not hurt the dog if used right.

Sounds like they need a shock collar. After our lab was fully trained, breaking occasionally and not following hand signals, my husband bought one. He doesn’t even have to shock her. Same with my yorkie. Her little disobedient self will 100% straighten up when I out the collar on her. I don’t even think I have ever shocked her.
