I've read some people had good luck buying fresh eggs from whole foods or similar stores and have hatched them... I'm not sure if they get refrigerated & still work or if their store has a local supplier who drops off fresh eggs. I guess you could ask around once you move & see where they get their eggs from. Obvi that's only if you don't care what kind of birds you get
There is a thread about hatching Trader Joe's fertile eggs on here some where.

Do the chickens care that they're not chicks after they hatch? Like, can they tell that they aren't chickens or are they just happy to have babies?
mine just wanted babies... in fact one last year had 4 turkey and 4 chickens. She left the nest with the 4 turkeys and left the 4 chicken WHICH WERE PIPPED! I stuck them in the incubator with some eggs that were pipped too. I gave her a turkey and a chick the next night. Everything seemed fine and the next morning she had the chick all bloody and wouldn't let it eat :barnie. but she was fine with the extra poult.. I guess she said this one does not look like the others.

I have never hatched any chickens, only parrots. I have wondered what Dylan would do if I gave her a couple of Quail eggs. Roughly the same size. It would be funny, it think.

Ah.. the first cockadoodle is always the best. Are you going to keep him?
I have no idea who gets to stay in the male category yet.
They all still have their baby personalities, and we both know those are total BS they're just so they'll get fed.
Iv'e got one home lined up already, and they aren't super picky, so one has some slack to work with.
I would in a perfect world like to keep a derp boy. Negan is going on 3 which isn't that old but just some of the things I see and already know about him, i'm not planning on him being an old,old man.
Henry's crow blew my mind. That wasn't the norm killing a dog toy sound that was a big boy crow.
I can't get over he beat Dick to the punch. :)

Pretty tiny to be crowing! In the city limits that would be a huge problem for me! He sure isn't much to put on the grill!
