SON of a gun. Miss May looks bad today. :(

She has a gross back end and screamed when I touched her.
I will give her a bath and check for an egg inside. I doubt she will ever recover and still suspect internal laying. :(

Having to consider culling sux.
:hugs

Sorry 21, I hate that you have to consider that.

It is a circus out there. Put Tucks with Beavis since she was hogging the nest all was fine...until Rene.
My darling psycho midget decided to go ham though the fence again only this time she's fighting two and one is broody soooo noisy is an understatement.
I put Beavis in the cube, Tucks is in the run and Rene is in my yarn basket by choice I did not put her in the yarn basket.
If I did it the thing would be shut and locked.

Oh can't like this, nope.:hugs

I had wanted to put a wood shed up on cinder blocks. Would add some height but also stop the poo and everything from getting on the wood itself and rotting it. Then I was going to leave it as dirt and deep litter right in the coop.
I never know though. Things sound good in my head then turn into a disaster. LOL
I put a tarp over my hardwood coop floor. Stapled down around the edges. Needs to be replaced periodically when it gets holes in it. It works nicely and I can easily scrape up the gross patches where water mixes w/ the poop.

I was headed to see if I had a magic green egg, heard scratching in the bitty coop nest so thought "oh goodie Peanut is eating yet ANOTHER egg". I just caught it BEFORE she got to it. :p
If she is intimidated by growling big black bringers of potential broody flogging she can visit E.V.E.R.Y. day. :lau

It was kind of funny. She just kind of froze in front of those broody beasts. When I was done in there I picked her up with zero resistance and off we went.
Might be worth it to put in an egg trap so the eggs roll out after they're laid if you're worried enough about it.

It has been a long time since she has truly felt good. I have to accept that a fast end is better than a long suffering.
Have you tried a fecal float. After Ron suggested it a couple weeks ago b/c I'd had some soft shell eggs I just gave my girls corid & since then the dirty butt puff no longer has a dirty butt and it seems like my weird eggs are becoming more normal. I've been giving them 1/2 tsp / gal since I got back and it looks like things are improving. Probably would stop needing it if they'd quit knocking all of their food out onto the floor.

Hi everyone,

I'm back from our trip. I'm exhausted, but overall I'm still recovering nicely.
Glad you made it home safe. Hope you had a good trip.
