Iv'e been blocking him, he calls from different numbers but they're always Texas.
This is on top of ebay messages out the wazoo.
Even if I had thought for a split second to retract my feedback I wouldn't now.
The turtle must have a steroid problem or a hormonal imbalance they normally don't get that big.
And woe to the lady turtle that catches his eye...oh boy. :gig
Wow, he's a big boy, & a cutie! How's T1 doing being a big brother? Has everyone adjusted to the new housing?

That's terrible. Can you block them? Personally I'd email ebay about the harassment.

That's a big turtle! Around here we either have HUGE snappers, or little sliders. Glad you didn't squish him. I probably would have thought he was wood too, but then I probably would have tried to step on it if I did.

I can't visualize what you're trying to say.. Is the desk of the style that you can just cut off the 18" section and leave you with the rest of the desk? You could even turn the table top around so the cut off portion is against the wall if the desk top is removable.

It is like the second picture down except across the side that touches the cubicle wall is a full back under the desk.....from the desk top to the floor. That is basically the piece I am thinking to use as the new top. The skinny side of my top is just under 18" so my cutting mat won't even fit there.
It was free so  if I kill it.

The tricky part is supporting the new top to prevent sagging as well as creating a stable top.

My other table is a goodwill $5 find. It is a 5' long conference table and has a wobble to it.

Scary as tater with the quilting machine on it.
To replace that machine is more than $6000. Yes six grand plus.
We got mine second hand for under $2000.

Ok, that makes more sense. What about using 2x4s to make a bracket 1/2 way down the length of the desk, it might be more sturdy than using a metal bracket since it'd be thicker and wider. Or make a T out of a couple 2x4s and make a leg in the middle. Either way, make sure you don't put it where you're going to hit your knee on it forever.

Good thinking!

I definitely need to support that back center somehow and the MDF sure has me nervous about screw blow outs.

Long term goal is to get functional and efficiently running so I can make and sell quilts. Right now it's not functional space. :hmm

Always to much to move to use my space. I am working on that.

You could drill screws in down from the top into the 2x4, but I'd only do that if it was going to be covered by the machine and wouldn't come in contact w/ any of the material. Or you could cover them w/ wood filler or something similar to avoid snags.
If you're really ambitious you could put a 2x4 across the entire back edge and anchor it to the side and back of the desk.

I talked to hubs about looking for base cabinets and he is super good with it.....especially when I told him good sewing tables run about $700 for one's I can set the machine down into.

I have the plexiglass table extension designed for my machine. :celebrate
That means I can cut into the conference table and get my machine dropped in!

It is amazing how different the older chickens are from the younger ones.
I gave both groups watermelon, little ones are up next to the house they're still super cautious about watermelon even though they've had it multiple times.
Big kids are in the woods, as soon as my melon bag crinkles it sounds like a herd of wildebeest coming lol!
No caution, none what so ever.
Did see the big kids are getting along pretty decent, Ethel, Dutch and Rene aren't getting chased away anymore.
Rene is pretty much a thug now though, she hangs out with Hobo and her kids....i'm worried.
