@Parront .
How is the settling into the new place going?

We have not had an update on a while. :pop
Getting there. Had to primer then paint the whole house due to the former owner smoking like a chimney. Torn out all carpet and flooring is being installed next week. We have moved over all the things from the guy shop, and winter stuff. After the flooring is done, the movers are coming to get the furniture. Been getting stuff done so not here as much.

Hello all! A busy summer is coming to an end very soon!

A lady in the next town posted a video about her hen and was looking for answers. She found her gasping for air. I knew you people are so smart and I wanted to get your expertise opinions. I don’t know any background about eating, etc. We were thinking gape worms, even though they are suppose to be rare in chickens.
With grape worm I think they do more of a yawning motion and sneezing to try and dislodge the worm.
I would look in her mouth. She sounds like she is full of phlegm. Guaifenesin can be given to thin out any mucus. (That's the active ingredient in musinex but you can get it in straight pill form.) I put a 400 mg tab in 1/2 gal of water and that was the only water I let them have.

:barnie No one carries a manual jamb saw. I don't need not can I afford a power jamb saw.

Good morning everybody! Going to be a weird day, the little derps aren't treating me like a monster lol.
Already muggy out there too, oh boy! :)

Looks like C.C is doing just fine for himself. :)

Soooooo things just get better and better.

I was petting and hugging on the Malamute.....2 minutes later I see it......a flea.
:barnie

Bedding is in the wash as Tilly sleeps there and Sable will nap there.
Full massive deep clean underway. :th

Fun fact.....Corcoran sprinkled on carpet kills fleas in carpet.
We do not have carpet so a solid mopping with bleach water will be going on here.

We usually do not have fleas here. :hmm

Oh and joy of joys dog baths with flea shampoo for 4 big dogs....

What was it?
"If it be weird it will dwell here"

Pretty sure this is the same one that was stuck in the feeder.View attachment 1861189

No idea how she managed this or how long she was stuck. But she's fine. I made sure she got a drink undisturbed to cool off. Then she just started chickening like nothing happened.
Oh wow. Glad she's ok. She probably couldn't see the netting and tried to jump up and over the fence and got caught up. You might consider using pull ties or something to attach the netting at the very edge of the fencing, like on the first or 2nd wire down so it can't happen again. When I had netting I bunched up the edge a bit to make it sturdier and wouldn't tear as easily if something did try to pull it at it. It seemed to work, but I only had it up until fall. I wasn't sure how the netting would hold up against the snow.

Ha! That's a nice little nesting spot. I hope it didn't poop back there. When William was little and I took him home w/ me he'd nestle at the back of my neck to keep warm. He was so cute then.. now he's a terror.

Did you look in your new tools for the saw? It'd be nice if there was one, but there probably isn't.

It sounds like things are coming together nicely. I bet it's nice to see some progress happening now.

Will lowe's or home depot rent you a jamb saw? Worth asking.
I looked and the store here has the manual ones in stock, but the cheap kobalt ones they suspiciously don't carry anymore.

It looks worse, but it smells better! We knew when we bought it that we would need to do these things. But, we are having to wait on the flooring installers schedule. Filling in by clearing the over-grown yard. Planting some rose bushes to get watered by the monsoon rains. Weather report claims it is on the way with 1/2 " predicted for tomorrow.
