Heritage Cornish mature about the same as English orphignton ... have slightly slower than typical heritage growth.. but they are large breasted, wide stance. I have one dark cockerel...

CX are a secret mix of Cornish and rocks. Hybrids..... Ready to harvest in half/ third the time and have issues from the rapid growth. There are grandparent flocks and breeder flocks. The ones we buy are the terminal offspring and hatcheries do not use them for breeding.

So better for??
Cornish are better for a sustainable healthy flock that tastes like real chicken
CX are cost effective to get fast meat
Thanks! I’m certainly not adding meat birds. I have enough on my plate and don’t eat much chicken now that I raise them. LOL

Someone was asking me about meat birds and I said I honestly didn’t know but knew who to ask.

Keep the info coming.

Sooo little River is pretty much staying dog tired then? ;)
Seriously crossing fingers for your washer.
I know it is a huge, huuuuge pain in the butt to replace appliances.

I will test the carp out of it tomorrow to make sure I got it fixed up.
I filled and drained just twice then had my son run a load of his stuff. No leaks from that so :fl.

I think I am finally learning Rivers signals. When she is tuckered out she gets very naughty.

:hugs Sorry about Lucky.

What's this run for?
Can't wait to see the new little fluffs.

There's your problem... you shouldn't pee in your washer.
The run is for the mottled bantam cochins , who live in the packing crate coop.

I have been letting them run loose when I am home, but I feel better if they have a run.

Yeah...River is a tuckered pup when she has been playing with the big dogs.
I am really glad my big dogs are trying hard to be gentle with her.
:fl For my plumbing fix to have fixed the issue too.
I am not a fan of all the fancy gadgetry that gets stuck in new appliances these days.
Now most have an autofill sensor that decides how much water you really need. :hmm The complaints are that it doesn't start filling with the lid up...cannot rinse soap cup...does not put enough water to even cover the clothes...adding water by bucket it will just drain off "excess". Not the hassles I want for sure.

They're really pretty! I know what you mean.. too many predators to let them roam unattended, & it's unfair to not let them out. I hope you get it done before the snow flies!

Good morning!
Everybody is fed and out doing chicken stuff, only had one small chase so that is pretty nice.
Stacey is babying that toe, it is her own fault though.
I finally don't stink!
Decent start to the day, i'll take it.:D

I know exactly what you mean!
My washer is one of the modern marvels of technology.
I have to say this Whirlpool has kicked the snot out of the Samsung it replaced though "also a freakin robot".
It is as simple as they get these days but still way more buttons than it needs.
I got a front loader this time too, my stature makes a top loader kind of awful lol.
Now the robot dryer that matches, really iv'e got nothing but nice things to say about it.
I actually went head first into new tech with it since it is an energy effecient dryer....it works reeealy well, im as shocked as anyone.:p

Morning chaos! :barnie:he

Delilah is beyond twitchy about the puppy. My son thinks it's funny that her tags are so tatering loud they wake the puppy.
Big dogs are fed, puppy is fed, chickens are fed.
Jack is a clumsy oaf and in his "mom MIGHT have a treat" stomp fest managed to step on puppy's ear. No idea why she was under him in the first place.
:barnie
She is fine but made a heck of a noise.

I think these big dogs need a few hours OUTSIDE! :rant

My son actually put his butt of a dog back downstairs before he left for work. She is sitting down there howling.
Sunday she gorged then had major stomach issues. My son stayed home yesterday so yeah....freaking chaos all day long.

Now that hubs has headed off to work MAYBE the day can chill the tater out.
:th

Oh and I need to go buy chicken food. I may take River with me and make people help me for a change.
