It’s a Blink camera. It runs on 2 AA batteries that could last 2 years. It doesn’t constantly operate. I can open the app on my phone and touch “live feed” to turn the camera on. At that point I can record what’s going on or not. It does have a microphone and a speaker so yes I can talk to them. They don’t like when I talk. LOL It has night vision and I can choose to turn on motion detection too. So obviously in the day that is off! But I left the door open to the run last night when I went to work. Once they settled in I turned on motion detection and felt so much better that I didn’t get an alert. I’m ready to add more cameras!

Having motion alerts is a neat feature!

That's awesome! I have a friend who just got a camera to watch her bird feeder but it's not working well for her. I'll have to let her know about this. My coop is too far from the wifi to set up something like this, but it is super awesome!

Awesome! We have a neighbor that looks after a huge hunt camp and he gets to have a camp out there for free so he brings us all the hogs he gets. He doesn't want them. So we clean them all the time. We also soak them in Vinegar, salt and ice. All out Hamburger and sausage is made out of Pig, or deer. And then we had a friend with a cow go down(broke legs ) so we had fresh beef too! We dont buy hamburger at all anymore.

So the camera I got came with a module. It’s basically a WiFi booster for the camera. With my house being brick and all the walls (inside and out) double thick sheet rock I barely get WiFi outside at all let alone 150 ft from the house. So the hub is connected to the WiFi and in the kitchen by the window. I can add cameras to the hub too so next will be a camera on the run.

I wonder how the batteries do when it's below zero...my weather batteries didn't transmit until it warms up
