Ok Squatchers looking for recommendations.
I'll start by saying I was told by the septic guy not to use my current shampoo. Also no pods of any sort, fabric softener or smelly beads that go in the wash.

I'm looking for a new shampoo. I swear I smelled at least half the bottles on the shelves today and didn't buy anything. Gave myself a headache doing it too.

I was using Suave. Apparently the oils they use for moisturizing are not good for my type of septic system. Its an aeration system that has little filter feet in. I saw the filters when he came to change them. They looked like I had tried to pour grease through them.

My question is what does anyone use that doesn't smell awful and not cost a fortune. I saw a bottle of shampoo for $14, in Walmart. I can't stand super smelly over the top scents. I use unscented everything! I even looked at a shampoo/body wash for hunters. You know, remove your smell so the animals can't smell you. But I have no idea what it would do to my hair. It has a tendency to be oily but with my well water gets very dry at the ends.

Can't I just get normal non stanky shampoo!?!

Excellent question......one I have NO answer to. When I lived with a septic system it did not have the filter thingy.
We used Suave too.

Aeration system translates to cheap to put in but must be baby sat constantly.

I think the whole thing is a racket. Someone's family member owns a septic company or something. I didn't get a choice of getting a new system or what type of system. Growing up we had the good old holding tank with leach beds. The system that was with the house was functioning fine but because it changed owners it needed "updating".

Someone comes out and looks at your property and how many bathrooms you have and says "this system" and that's what you get.

And not until I got a system alarm and it needed to be worked on did anyone say anything about products to avoid. 🤦‍♀️ :)🏻🤬

Yes that a middle finger emoji!

Laundry, Mrs. Meyers in any scent they all rock.
They have fab softener too, matches the detergents if you get down like that.

From what I was told a lot of soaps, shampoos, conditioners and detergents end up making a big fat slab on top of the poop.
Kind of seals it like tupperware so it goes to poop heaven sloooow and nothing can drain.
If it rains, and rains for days your tank might even get filled with water due to it
Do not ask me how I know.....boomerang poop, thats all im saying.

I had to hit like because there isn't a 💩 or a 🤮 option.

No one wants a boomerang poop.
