Official Squatch Watchers

I hope that the thief was a snake and swallowed them, but SEVEN?
That's why I was thinking coon.

Besides, I don't want a snake big enough to each 7 chicken falsies + whatever guinea eggs were in the nest (we didnt gather them yesterday) around my house. I've got too many little peepers in that area.

How would a coon carry 7 fake eggs? Not like the little boogers have a shopping cart!

Repeated trips. I had a duck nest raided years ago. There had been 14 eggs, zero were left. The next night I got a coon in the trap.

Are you planning to ship eggs?
That's a firm Maybe... The person is a bit flakey. First she calls and tells me that she found me on the internet. We go through the details and she wants six for her broody. Then I ask if she has an email account (so she could email me her details) and she says yes, but doesn't have internet access. So I pull up a spreadsheet to write down her data, she gave me her name fine, but oh was it hard to wade through that Georgia accent. Then I asked for her address, and she pauses for moment and then asks why I need her address. Well, if I'm going to ship you some eggs it really helps if I know where to ship them. So she gives me her address and phone number... Then I ask for her email address (it's a required field on the 9-3)... You would thought I asked for her Social Security Number. So she finally gives it to me and then asks if she can pay by check... I prefer paypal, but check is okay, but I don't ship until it clears. So I tell her I'll mail her an invoice and once the check clears, I'll call her with the tracking number for her box. Her plan is to put the eggs under her hen that went broody a couple days ago... I seriously wonder if that hen will still be broody and willing to set eggs when they get to her.

Maybe we should put a coon trap out there tonight.....

I also caught 4 different fox in that same pen over that summer. I cannot swear it was the coon who took the eggs but I can swear he never took another....the fox either.

Rae, what do you do about whacky buyers?
For shipping eggs? I’ve only shipped eggs to Mo.

For in person buyers, I let them do the work if they want to buy from me. I tell them when I’m available and wait for them to tell me when they are available before giving them directions.

I quit letting buyers come here. Meeting them nearby works well for me.
