Official Squatch Watchers

Well I've been painting today and realized the power is out! Hope it come back on before it causes problems with the eggs in my incubators.
Same thing happened to me last night. (transformer blew up) No power anywhere.

Got this much done though before the power went out. 😅
Going with Simon black and while.
It will have a black roof on it and the pull bar will be painted black. Maybe the roosting poll. Idk on that one yet.

I've had my incubators survive 5 hours without power and still have good hatch rates.

You might not want to paint the roosting board, it might be slippery? I do like to replace roosts when the wood gets grungy, and I want to have them bug-free.

Really scary for sure. I know it's been out an hour. I've not opened anything up so I'm hoping it will be back on soon. Down to 85°
Hot water bottle with water warmed on the stove? One of the Watchers on here uses hand warmers. She wrote an article, was that you @Redhead Rae ?

Good thought. I have already painted it white lol but I can replace it for sure if needed.

my stove is also electric so I can't use that. I don't know if I have any hand warmers stashed away or not but I could look.

:( Electric stoves are not my favorite to cook on, so I did not think of that. I remember now what the other member uses, Therma care back wraps -- the kind people use for back pain, at the drugstore pretty reasonable, and large enough to cover her hatching chicks in the incubator. Here it is I found the article she wrote: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/emergency-chick-brooder-for-power-outages.75738/

Thanks a lot. Thankfully the power is back on now!
