We discussed it by phone, she knew what she was getting. They are pretty easy to pick up at 4 weeks old in the brooder. They jump up for treats, not exactly feral! She saw them in her kennel before they loaded it. I gave her the most obvious boys & girls at that age, pretty easy to tell. 7 boys and 6 girls. Most people around here want to see them before they buy. You make cages? I did meet to buy some of my first hens. She had a van and swaped them in there. Would be a pain in the back of my escapeI meet people in public places. Don't want people knowing where I live.
For some people, I would do the same. This was someone I know from the AZ BYC thread, we are going to be trading eggs later on, and we wanted her and her husband to come over. If it were not for Covid we would have had a nice visit. We are going to process the excess boys here in a few more weeks.I meet people in public places. Don't want people knowing where I live.
Depending on the size of the bird, I use a small dog transport kennel or a cardboard box. To most people a 4-6 week old chick they all look the same. A couple of my husband's softball friends came over and I sold them 4 of the Ideal chicks. Sent them home in a Home Depot cardboard box. Those guys were already outside, but they are easy to catch. They eat treats out of my hands, get picked up all the time by the neighbor girl who loves them. She tames them for me for free! You make cages? I did meet to buy some of my first hens. Going through it now. Had a charge placed on my card on a subscription I canceled last year. The Bank says I need to challenge the charge, but with little hope of winning. So far the charge is still on the card. I canceled the card and am getting a new number so it will not happen again. I have to go to the bank and get an ABU form so the credit card company will not share my number with vendors. What a hassle. I literally hate that companies take such advantage of people.Praying your ankle gets better soon.
That stinks about the card. I had the same thing happen. I now have several cards and switch when I have bogus charges and they shut down the account. Still a pain to switch everything.
Most of my bills are paid for the month. I'm worried the card won't show up in 2 weeks. I'll have to go through all my online accounts and see what is paid by what. Its either bank card or direct from bank account. If I have to I'll switch it over to my discover card for a month till the new card arrives. Good thing I have good credit and a nice limit.FlyingNun, call everyone that will come due in that time frame, and explain what's going on. Sometimes they're cooperative, sometimes they'll ask for a letter from your bank. We went to our bank, and they gave us a letter, stating we had to de-activate our card, and would get a new one within 2 weeks, which we faxed/emailed to our creditors. Everyone cooperated. As soon as we got our new card number, we called everyone. Yes, it's an inconvenience, but as inconveniences go, it's not the worst.
The first hens I sold , the person shown up with a cardboard box. She forgot the carrier before she went to work. It was like wack a mole with them popping out when another was put in. One of the 3 ran off back to the coop.Depending on the size of the bird, I use a small dog transport kennel or a cardboard box.
Have a super day everyone!
Good morning!
Good morning all
Black chick still missing, but it wasn't the cockerel, it was the pullet. I guess in the twilight I just assumed it was the cockerel. I have over 40 hens and was trying to get over processing a perfectly good pullet anyway. I usually sell the extras pullets but not eager to have people coming over this year.
I was on my feet quite a bit yesterday and I will be again today. My ankle doesn't like it.I put it up with ice when I can. It doesn't really hurt but I can see it gets a little fatter.
FYI a large disposable glove makes a great ice pack in a pinch.
I lost my bank card yesterday. Went to 2 stores and used it. Got to the third stop and didn't have it when I went to pay. I have the receipt from the last place I used it but no card. It was about an hour from when I used it so went right back to the store. They didn't have it. No one turned it in. Emptied my purse and wallet. Went through the groceries. Looked through the car. Nothing. So I locked it so no one can use it and called the bank this morning.
I won't have a card for 2 weeks. They can't issue you a new card without canceling the old one. I asked what that does to my bills that are linked to it? I'll have to update them all. Ok... but some are due within a 2 week period. So what about those that will automatically be charged. "They'll be denied" Super F*ing Helpful! Luckily all my bills are paid on time and big ones (mortgage) I think, are linked to my account not the card. But we will see when I have to update everything.
Why they can't send a card to be activated while the old card is still available I don't know. Locking it makes it so it can't actively be used but recurring payments will be made. To me it seems like locking the lost card, sending a new one then canceling the lost card when a new one is activated makes way more sense. What would I know?
