They are so pretty out on the grass.

The AirBnB is full this weekend. 2 families, one in a 33' MH. 2 boys are running amok in the creek, looking at the chickens, 2 dogs running along with. Been a while since we had kids that age, they are about 8. So, we were pretty busy getting ready for them, now they are out to the National Forrest in the MH and we have peace.

What started as a kill all wasps mission has .... evolved.

So long situation short....
We built a deck off my shop over a decade ago. It is tiny but necessary and leads to the dog kennels.
Well the last month wasps have been swarming around it ducking in through the gaps.
I pulled a 2x12 board in order to spray under there. I sprayed but decided I want to rebuild the deck. The 2x12's while sturdy are cupped and winter sux due to ice and water sitting on them.

Today's project....cut and stain new wood. Tomorrow will be remove the old and install the new.

Other than that it has been yard/garden prep for winter. I got the big branch drug out of the alley and cut up. I decided the chicks could have a big piece to play on.

Good afternoon everyone!

We did some chicken shuffling this morning and I did some more cull/keep decisions this afternoon. I have a lady that wants one of my Jubilee cockerels.

When I was only my way back to the house from sorting, I found this:

I thought the guineas were done laying for the season. NOPE. They just switched from the dirt pile in the back yard to the one in the front yard.

good evening everybody! I had an unusually productive Saturday. The dog spazzed out at about 5 am, we have no idea what happened but she ended up not moving her back legs again. Thank fully it didn’t last this time. Last year she started dragging a rear foot just a bit and one day she just couldn’t move her gack legs at all. Herniated and/or compressed discs and arthritis, but no nerve damage, thankfully!
A friend came by to get some more quail eggs, yay! Still have 4 dz to eat though. I need more customers!
I managed to deep clean the buns and the quail in the bun cage, cleaned the coop, fixed their door finally and hang the nest boxes. I’m pooped!
Unfortunately the bedding I bought has a smell to it and seems to be very fine and fluffy. Not what I thought I was buying. I hope they’ll be okay.
We found three eggs!! They’re first! Yay
Wow. Reading what I did, it doesn’t sound like much, but I swear it took all day.
