Official Squatch Watchers

I know the neighbors would prefer the rooster over the guinea hens 😂 one of the house we looked at before moving here had them running around and they can get really loud 😬😂

Yeah....I would take ONE randomly crowing rooster over several machine gun Sally birds any day. :lau

I don't mind critter noise, guinea, chicken, horse, goat, donkey etc. Yappy dogs all day long though.....🤨

I just hope them thumbing their noses at courtesy doesn't cause trouble for everyone else. I am probably pushing the limits with chickens and ducks myself even though mine are silent most of the day. I have a tremendous amount invested into my birds.....it would be very upsetting to be forced to get rid of them all.

I’m with you. Some noise some of the time, but .... no thanks!
And it’s not like you can ask city council, then you’re drawing attention to everything.

I know!

They have conflicting regs too. One says "as many as can be properly housed and cared for without creating a health hazard or nuisance" another says 6 with permit and inspection and restricts coop and run size.

I went with the city one which is the only one that existed when I got birds. The more restrictive county one would mean ripping out thousands of dollars in structure, fencing and getting rid of almost every bird I have.

Happy Birthday Chicky!
A kinda funny thing in my neighborhood.....

A family several houses away had a rooster. While I didn't mind him I know others did mind. Well I haven't heard him in a few days now.
There is a new noise from that yard....one I am sure will draw equally hostile responses.....guinea hens....
I always joke if neighbors complain about roosters, get guineas. They will be asking you to bring roosters back.
The zoning inspector is the best bet for information on regulations. If you don't want to say you already live there say you are looking to move into the area.

Hope it all works out for them and everyone else. I'd be very upset if I had to get rid of my birds because of something another person did .
