Official Squatch Watchers

Well poop. :(
There has been a chicken fight in the pullet house. Mandy is bloody on the head and neck.
I think I will try and set up the brooder box inside the pullet house to allow her to heal up.
Gonna be a snug fit.
The other option unfortunately segregates her completely from the flock.

She will be ok. As always a little blood goes a long way. The wound looks small but bled a lot for it's size.
Mandy is a small bird being a California White. I think it was over the nest box since both she and Jackie lay early in the day.
Time to add dividers to the boxes I suppose.
Having built the bumped out nest box the brooder fits ok in there now.

Hi everybody :frow

Sorry to hear about the hen fight, but glad to hear she’s okay.

Today hasn't turned out quite how I expected it to. I dropped off my car at the garage, but the one I planned to take to work wouldn't start, according to hubs. I wasnt super worried since I can work from home since bossman agreed. I havent tried it myself, but hubs was way too excited to start getting the jumper cables etc. I told him no thanks! Don’t want to blow it up. The garage called and it’s going to be around $600-$700 to fix the exhaust plus a new muffler :th
Kiddo stayed up way too late and was hangry. He finally ordered food after finding fault with everything we had, but settled down and went to his room. It’s been since. Phew! Trying to get a few more things done but the work laptop constantly kicks me off the internet and runs out of juice a little too quick. Thankfully I can do the basics on my tablet.

Monkey’s head looks like she’s molting and today her neck look noticeably less feathered. Could she be stressed? They are mid-April chicks, so only about 10? months old. No pics. I keep forgetting my phone in this cold.

Sounds like a "fun" start to the day.

Hangry kids are a real day downer.

Your Monkey may be experiencing the brunt of the hair pullers in the flock. I have seen some "mean girl" crap in my flocks over the years. It usually results in missing feathers with no blood drawn.
What breed is Monkey?

:frowGood afternoon Fishy, hope the day turns out much better :hugs

Hey, look what I finally got snow!
Guess what I don't have?
Bread or milk, people hoard it up so I have to make bread and hear a bunch of whining when I stop.
I fell down out there, not in a slip in the snow oopsie way.
No, I did a half worm face plant.
Derpy as derpy can get, that was a kid me fall.
Im shocked nothing is broken and the ground survived.
Interesting and fascinating discovery, the new kids love snow.
They just YOLO'ed right out the door.
That batch is full of dafuq. :p

She’s a welsummer, the only one. She’s also the smallest. I guess I’ll have to spend more time watching them. Poor thing.

Oh no! Are you okay? I hate falling down. The ground just seems so much further away than it used to be. 😂. Have you ever tried the frozen bread loaves? They’re not bad.
