This is because
there's a forest preserve to the west
Neighbor to the east puts out food for them.
A creek runs through all of above. Predator highway.
I hadn't been doing any major limiting of numbers for decades, until they started eating poults last year. When above neighbor went on vacation and a hungry hoard descended..... I had a couple chasing chickens a few years ago that got eliminated, but I pretty much left them alone. I should have been keeping the numbers down all along.

ETA town folks relocate in my side driveway too

Relocating just makes it someone else's problem 😡 and we don't agree with that.

Yeppers and it's not legal. But they are cute and townfolk don't realize Coons can travel 3 to 10 miles They see woods and fields thinking that would be a good home for their problems.
