Official Squatch Watchers

All red devils are mean lol!
The one I got was an hubs accident, he thought it was a blood parrot.
My tank had a two flowerhorns and two old blood parrots and one of those died so he tried to replace it.
I tried to keep it but it was such an a**hole I ended up returning it.

I preferred keeping the easy electric yellow cichlids. They were decent enough. I had to be sure and remove babies when mom booted them out of her mouth or the males would eat them.
The jewel cichlids were pretty but harder to keep and harder to tell males from females.

We had a Jack Dempsey female that got to almost a foot long and lived over 10 years. She would eat large crawfish as her treats. She had serious power in her hits.

Good morning everyone. Another hot, humid day here.

I've watched the tv show Tanked enough to know that one has to be careful with the types of fish they choose, and sometimes of how many of certain types. Other than that, I don't really know which ones to choose.

Good morning 🔆
Hot and humid again
Had an inch of rain last night. Maybe more this evening
:frow Good morning Mo, have a great day

:frow Good morning Chicky, have a great day... I'm clueless when it comes to flowers and fish. I once had a tank full of baby catfish and bass, and another for minnows. Lost everything not once but twice. So I gave up on fish.

My mom was a pices so she always had a fish or fifty and she rubbed off on me.
She never did much research on any of them so a lot of them magically disappeared into the others bellies.
Good morning everyone 😊 Have a wonderful day !

Good morning Mo 😊 try to stay cool

Good morning Chicky 😊 never was into fish, but my uncle had a full basement of tanks and our son in law is very much into fish.
Gouramis were always my favorites, I could mix them and nobody died.
Got into those flower horns and could only keep equally wonk looking fish that couldn't nibble their kok.
Bump on their head is a kok, don't report me!😂

Sometimes all you can do is guess lol!
I've set up quite a few tanks through trial and error

Nope they're literal Frankenstein's monsters just in cichlid form same as blood parrots.
But I like the notion of calling them fancy, sure beats what most people call them.:)
To show you how much I know about fish... I thought those were some fancy goldfish lol 😂

1 IBC tote nearly done. 10 boxes of salt, 5 gallons of white vinegar, turned on each side, all 6 of them, and moved/shaken around enough on each side for the salt to scour the sides, and corners.

Even empty they're very heavy. I'm whipped. I'll let that sit in there for today. That will remove any odors, tastes, and any type film that might have been inside it. Later, I need to go get a cobweb brush (round head) with a telescoping handle. Tomorrow I will rinse out the salt, and vinegar, then clean with dish soap water, and scrub with the cobweb brush. I have considered making a bleach water, and using it after the dish water, to finish disinfecting it. I'm not sure it will be needed. The place I bought it from, uses a pressure washer, and 200 degree water to spray them with. There was no gunk inside, or anything, and they were pretty clean. The bleach may be overkill.

What were they used for originally?
