Soooo what was the question that you were afraid would jinks her?Woo hoo!
I had a good feeling!![]()
Had a very buggy morning.
My oldest Swedish Flower rooster hasn't been seeming to feel well. The end of last month I noticed he had broken the end of his top beak. Rather badly. Checked him over, trimmed the broken part so he wouldn't catch it and sent him on his way. Of course everyone is molting. He hasn't had tail feathers in a while and has been lazing around. He is in my rooster coop so no need to impress the ladies. I figured it feels like devils sauna out and he's molting, he doesn't feel well. Today he seemed even more lethargic. So I pick him up...bugs started running up my arms! I rush him into the house and into the laundry sink. Dawn bubble bath and a good scrub. Rinse, repeat. Then I took him outside and was using the hose on him. I was power washing my rooster. I've never seen so many mites in my life. He actually has what look like blood blisters on his skin. Rinsing and rinsing and bugs are running everywhere.
I made up some elector psp and literally dunked him in a bucket. I'm splashing it up his body and just trying to soak him as much as I can. I took him out of the bucket and dumped it over him and on the ground where we were. He was not looking good. I hosed him down again to remove mite corpses and get some of the chemical off him. Sat outside with my hair dryer and tried to get him as dry as I could. Then sprayed him with elector psp again for good measure.
I brought him back to the coop and sprayed it. Checked the 2 boys I could catch and maybe found a dozen mites between them. Poor Duracell just lay in the run all day. I made sure he was close to food and water and not in direct sun. I eventually moved him into the run under the coop and just waited.

This is the biggest FU stink eye I think I've ever gotten. But he was standing on his own.
Everyone will be checked and sprayed in the next few days. Why on earth he was typhoid Mary I don't know. I thought for sure the other boys would be covered.
Oh and while I was soaking wet with a soggy rooster in my yard the guy came to give me a quote on my roof.

Congratulations! 21hens
Good morning folks
Woooo Hooooo
Thank you!
Thank you!
For real I expected to have to fight hard or ANY job given I am a short old lady wearing bifocal glasses. They say they do not discriminate based on age but we all know that's not entirely possible as first impressions lead to judgements.
Good morning Henny, have a great day
