hi everybody :frow

You'd think they'd make better heaters. Four of these were yo-yos. They are so cute and fun to watch. They got big and rotten though so I put them in this “big boys” tank.
Basel the Bichir seems to have recovered pretty nice. He's still taking breaks but thats okay 😊
I would love to have Hillstream loaches! Have you seen the panda loaches? 🥰
Yeah, pandas are adorable. I really wanted to get clowns but could never justify the expense to get tanks big enough to keep them. They really need 125+ gallons to really live well.

I also used to have Java loaches that were really fun. Mine died before the great heat kill though. I also bought Khulii loaches once but the fish store sent them into saline shock and I didn't realize it until I got them home and they all died. Apparently, some fish stores will boost the saline in tanks of new fish they get in to deal with some common diseases. The serpentine loaches are VERY sensitive to salt and don't do well with extra salt in their environment unless it is very gradual.

After doing some research, I think the lone loach I had was a Burmese loach. They look very similar to Juvenile Angels, The only different is they usually don't have spots in their vertical black bars while JV angels do.

I forgot, I also had a single Zebra loach who survived the heater issue as well, but I only had one of them to start because I didn't realize that they were community fish when I got him and I was never able to find more buddies for him. He was the first loach I ever got too.

Wow! You really like loaches 🤣. They are a cool species, but I have definitely learned they do better amongst themselves, like your old tank. It is incredible how big the clowns get. A foot or so I think. I could easily justify the cost of a 125,
IF I had the space to put it 🤣🤣
Yes, bottom dwellers, tetras, and other scaleless fish should never have any significant exposure to salt or a full dose of any meds.
