Good morning all
Did get almost an inch of rain yesterday 😃

I had to dispatch an older chicken hen that someone beat up, probably a turkey. She had been beat up a few times and limping for a few years, before covid. This is what happens when a chicken raises poults and thinks she can put a turkey in it's place... She looked really bad this time.
Anyway I dispatch Tuesday or Wednesday when it was too hot and humid for me. I stuck her in the fridge unplucked or drawn. I was going to check every day and see when she came out of rigor but forgot until today.
She was easy to skin and I was just taking the breasts and legs anyway, which was 3 lbs. The freezer has too many backs and wings. Didn't weigh before meat removal. I could see though that her gallbladder was ruptured, no wonder she looked bad. Glad most of the birds get along.

I was going to put her down the 2nd time she was beat up, before last winter but didn't feel up to it. She got beat up again just when it got hot but recovered enough she could go dustbath. Not doing her any favors though by not giving mercy.

Hi everybody :frow

I slept all morning cuz somebody was up most of the night again. i’ll be kicking them out to the couch tonight. I need sleep! I was supposed to be done sanding at least and hoped to have the first coat of paint on today, but nothin’ got done instead. Yesterday i did manage a few things in the garden and cleaned the grill. I really like grilling since we switched to a gas one. I could never get the hang of charcoal
I have an eggplant and zucchini waiting to be grilled. Tomorrow? 🤞Hopefully I get a cauliflower too. Might throw some burgers on there but i tend to overcook them on the grill. Ooh! Chops! Yes, I’ll do chops instead.
Okay, off to work in a few then seven days off both places. :woot:celebrate

In our master bathroom, there is a stand alone shower, and separate bathtub. I have not used the shower in there in a long time. The shower floor is at slightly too steep of an angle. With some of the health issues I've gone through, I was concerned about slipping, and falling in there. I began using the shower in the main bathroom, because there was no angle to navigate.

When Dd#1 moved in with the kids, we shared the main bathroom shower. I recently decided I don't want to share anymore, so I began looking at good rubber no slip bath mats for the master shower, to help solve the problem. I seem to have hit on a good solution. The mat I picked is medium sized, so I ordered another one for inside the shower, to give better coverage, and one more for outside the shower.

I had never thought about one for outside the shower, but was reading where quite a few people stepping out of the shower, had the rug outside the shower move, and they fell. Ok, I can put one outside the shower too. My rug outside the shower tends to get damp, when I get out of the shower dripping wet, and I stand on it to dry off. I tend to have to wash it fairly regularly, so it doesn't get musty, mold, or mildew on it. The outside rubber mat will dry easily without absorbing the water, and help protect from falling when stepping out of the shower.

It seemed like such a good idea, I've now ordered ones for the main bathroom shower, and will do the same.
